Gordon, Nocioni, and Okafor in a Jazz uni
Ben Gordon would be a two-guard that other teams would respect his shot and he can create his own shot, and last he gets to the free throw line at a high rate aggresively driving to the hoop. One other thing I would like to point out with Gordon is that he could play the point also, so with Sloan liking to have a two points on the floor, and at that two very skilled players in Williams and Gordon kind of like a Stockton-esque and Hornacek-esque back court. Andres Nocioni wouldn't replace Andrei's blocking ability but I think he would make up for it in other areas, his shooting is great and he would demand a player to be on him with other teams respecting his shot also. Nocioni's defense is great but blocking is not a strength but his perimeter defense along with his on ball is terrific, and last with Okur and Nocioni roaming the outside would open the middle for Gordon and Williams to slash to the basket and open the middle for Okafor to play his inside game and pick and rolls with Williams or Gordon. Emeka Okafor would thrive in the Utah Jazz and Jerry Sloan's system, is not afraid to use his body to bang on the inside with other bigs on both ends of the floor, something we are missing right now, and Okafor is a terrificly skilled big man that would compliment Okur awesomely.
So here is my proposal to all of you and if somehow to get this to Jazz brass which I know they explore all opportunities but maybe they need to be the aggressor.
Charlotte gets: Carlos Boozer and Matt Harpring
Chicago gets: Andrei Kirilenko and Ronnie Brewer
Utah gets: Emeka Okafor (sign & trade), Andres Nocioni, and Ben Gordon (sign & trade)
2008-09 Utah Jazz depth:
1 Williams/Price/Hart
2 Gordon/Korver/Almond
3 Nocioni/Miles
4 Okafor/Millsap
5 Okur/Fesenko/Koufos/Collins

Terrible deal for both Chicago and Utah, Charlotte walks away smiling.

No way in Hell I'd do this, and I'm not sure Chicago would either. I like all three players, but we're giving up way too much.

Ugh, really ugh.
Here we go - I'd much, much rather have Brewer than Gordon for several reasons: younger, cheaper, bigger / taller, defends, isn't a high volume shooter.
At the three, I'd rather have Harp & AK than Nocioni. Noc is a good player, but doesn't really do anything better than Harp (if he had Noc's minutes) or AK.
Okafor really isn't a 4, he's more of a 5.
The team you propose is softer on defense (weakening our biggest weakness), and not markedly better on offense. We would go from a 55 win team to a 46-48 win team and likely out in the first rd of the playoffs.
Now, if we could coordinate something along the lines of Okur & Miles or Almond for Okafor (s&t), that would be ok with me. But gutting our team just to make sure that Deron leaves in 3 years? I don't see it.

Too much going on there, and too much of a gamble for the Jazz to fall flat on their face.

I don't think I'll ever understand the fascination with proposing unrealistic trade scenerios and pretending that they are legit.
What's the point? Is it entertainment or ignorance?

Lets the Lakers blow up their roster, not us!i say stick with this line up and focus on back up point guard help!Artest for Lamar is the new thing!Let people try to put together allstar line ups!All we need is a good back up point and the West can be won!

Re: Gordon, Nocioni, and Okafor in a Jazz uni
Apart from the Jazz not greatly benefitting in this proposal, Carlos Boozer would be a major sticking point. A lot of people think it's either Miami or Utah for Boozer in the foreseeable future, so Charlotte likely would be getting merely a rent-a-PF. Who knows, even petty things like the Duke-UNC rivalry could come in to it, too.
