Larry Miller steps aside, names son as CEO

Post#1 » by Hikari » Thu Jul 17, 2008 4:30 am

With his father still hospitalized after five weeks due to complications from diabetes, the oldest son of Jazz owner Larry Miller moved a step closer Wednesday to taking over the team.
Greg Miller, who has worked the past two years at the Miller Motorsports Park in Tooele County, was named chief executive officer of his father's group of companies. Larry Miller will serve as chairman of a newly created 10-member governing board.
Since he was hospitalized June 10, the state of Larry Miller's health has been closely guarded by the family. Greg Miller said his father is in a rehabilitation unit where he is undergoing physical therapy to regain his strength, energy and mobility.

Larry will still oversee all the major decisions, his son will take care of the meaningless backstage crap at the arena.

It won't be until Larry dies that we will see any change with how the Jazz are run.

Larry hasn't been a healthy looking guy for a while now. The waddle is painful to watch.

So is his ears/elbows/body/face....

But seriously, I hope he gets well soon so he can enjoy our run next year. God knows he deserves a championship just as much as the fans/coaching/players do.

This is good step, if his son is taking over the team when he dies, he needs to get his feet wet.

Get better Larry.

Greg is now the CEO, but Larry is still a Chair Person. Greg will not have anything to do with the Jazz for a while, his main focus right now are the Car Dealerships and the Real Estate investments.

God I wish I was Larrry Miller's son. How would that be to be 40yrs old and get handed the keys to the Utah Jazz!!!
Bye Bye Sloan, Good Riddance Deron. Hello new Era in Jazz Basketball.
