OP's lineup is probably my favorite to watch. But your logic is confusing. CJ just got paid 3.7 mil, which isnt that bad, and you want to thrust him into the starting line up (He'd play the 3, btw) and remove MEMO? Who is due to make upwords of 9 million this season. I dont get it. CJ has paid his dues, he's sat on the bench long enough...it's now his time to get some solid back up minutes (Sorry Harpring).
I'm sure we'll see your line up for certain stretches (against smaller, more athletic teams), but Memo is our starting center, and I dont change that until we trade AK and Morris Almond for ????? (insert Defensive center here). Then MAYBE i'd see bringing Memo off the bench, and have him and Milsap man the paint. But until we do that, it's Deron / Brewer / AK /Boozer /Memo. With Knight, Korver, CJ and Milsap coming off the bench
I have come to two logical conclusions.

I do think that trading almond is the way to go.

The logjam has to clear up somehow. Right now the Jazz are invested in three shooting guards, and have 1 for one+option (Korver). CJ is pretty much sewn up for a year, but I honestly can't see the Jazz going into the season with the same logjam. Someone has to go, and it's likely between Almond and Brewer. I say Brewer because he has built up trade value with his play last year. Almond is cheaper to keep, and they know he can play. A plausible move would be moving Ronnie for an expiring contract, possibly also moving Ronnie Price. Mo could be dealt as well, though his contract is for less than Brewer's. He could also spend the year in the D-League again with Fes and Koufous. I don't expect either of them to see the court for the Jazz this year. Almond is ready.

Do they really know that Almond can play? You would think that they know that Brewer can play but Almond is the question mark.
The pay really isn't that big of a difference between the two.

No way we trade Brewer. He was fantastic as a 1st yr starter, he's only gonna get better. Almond just doesn't seem to have what we need, sure he can score as good as anyone on the floor.. .but it's the other intangibles that we need out there. Utah has no problem putting the ball in the hoop, it's defending the other end that gets us in trouble.
I think Almond has some serious interest around the league because everyone see's the numbers he put up in the DLeague and they also see that he hasn't been given a legitimate chance at the next level. So he's scorer with POTENTIAL as his biggest asset, I think if we are able to package AK, Almond and either a pick or Collins we could get some solid value... but not sure if we can get what we need. Dalembart, Kaman, Dampier, Perkins type of player

This is kind of off topic but has anyone else noticed that on the profiles, that show up on the Jazz front page of Realgm, all of the players have the same birth day and are all subsequently 38 years old. It says that their birthday's are Dec 31 1969. Crazy

My response to this heads in a little different direction -
Last year we were incredibly lucky as a team to have so few injuries. However, I don't remember a more flexible Jazz team regarding quality players that can step in and produce at multiple positions. If anyone from our 2-5 positions goes down we have multiple line ups that can effectively produce.
deron is a given - I like Milsap and Korver coming off of the bench regardless.
cj and brewer can swap based on matchups.
I do like playing ak at the 4 as much as possible, without limiting Milsaps backup minutes. THis means playing Boozer at the 5 whenver appropriate.
2-5 positions in order:
memo out - cj, brew, ak, booz
booz out - cj, brew, ak, memo
ak out - cj, brew, booz, memo
cj, brew, korver out - no problem
harp out - more time for the previous three.
milsap out - more minutes at the 4 for ak
I'm fine with harpring and collins finishing there contracts out, fes, Kosta, and almond spending time in the D-League and being pulled up as needed or warranted. (it would be great if any of the three takes a large step towards their high ceilings).
It's no rocket surgery!

In the military - deployed
There are Jazz fans everywhere!
Milsap would be good in the first unit but I think having consistencey with him and Korver getting solid minutes in the same situation each game versus other teams weaker second units would go further to winning games. That way we have good inside/outside presences with CJ and Boozer and then with Milsap and Korver, plus good rebounding in both.

Nice post.
To take it one step further at the risk of opening old wounds - imagine if Fisher had embraced his role (not counting salary or logjam at the 2), we'd be covered 1 to 5 on that injury chart. No bashing of Fish necessary. Just for illustrative purposes, only.
