All-Time Jazz
if you could select an All-Time Jazz starting 5, (don't focus only on numbers but on "team-chemistry" as well), how would it look like?

PG: Stockton

PF: Malone
C: Okur-This line up would be fairly strong defensively, so a scorer like Okur would fit better (otherwise I would put Eaton here).

SG: Jeff Hornacek

Defensively we'd make the Celtics look like the Nuggets but we still have our low post offense in the mailman and shooters with Stockton and Hornacek. Stockton would keep AK involved enough in the offense to keep him effective and Eaton would get som put backs. Team chemistry isn't really an issue, Stockton and Malone have played with all of the players and are good enough captains to keep things running smoothly.

^That is really the lineup that I thought of...
I had a hard time between Okur and Eaton. I think I would much rather have Eaton coming off the bench.

It was a toss-up for me too. I don't think the team gets worse if you start Okur or Eaton. I chose Eaton because I like really good defensive grind it out kind of games.

I thought about Pistol but he seemed to dribble a lot and dominate the ball. I could be off on that. It is just how I feel.

It's hard to say because Pistol never seemed to have many other people on his team worth a damn, especially someone who could pass the ball as well as he could (Stock) and someone who could score as well as he could (Mailman).

Right, that is what makes it so difficult.

With what we've seen of D-Will in the playoffs and international play, I'd be tempted to go with this lineup:
G - John Stockton
G - Deron Williams
F - Adrian Dantley
F - Karl Malone
C - Mehmet Okur
I see no reason Stock and D-Will couldn't share the backcourt, and Hornacek was never a great defender. Dantley and Malone were both awesome rebounders, and Malone may have been the best one-on-one PF defender (apologies to McHale) that the league has ever seen. I too am torn between Eaton and Okur, but I give Okur the nudge. I think he would be alright defensively with Malone there too. Its really the combo of Memo and Booz that gives Memo such a bad name defensively.
The second team is nothing to sneeze at either:
G - Ricky Green
G - Pete Maravich
F - Andrei Kirilenko
F - Carlos Boozer
C - Mark Eaton
That team would win a lot of games, even against all-star competition. Even with Booz, that is one heck of a defensive team, and Maravich and Booz can handle the scoring load.

Re: All-Time Jazz
Not really the best Jazz team(talent wise), but I think this team could get it done.
G. Stockton
G. Hornacek
F. Kirilenko
F. Malone
C. Eaton
-----------------------
The starters are all good defensively, and they would fit with each other nicely. Having Dantley or Pistol Pete would cause problems because Malone is there and there wouldn't be enough basketballs to go around. Also, I have two players who can knock down open jump shots. and three guys who can ground offensive rebounds. four the five starters are also exceptional passers.
Bench
G. Deron Williams
G. Robert Hansen
F. Thurl Bailey
F. Antoine Carr
C. Mehmet Okur
The Bench gives you three guys who can score(Memo, Dwill,Big T). Two solid defenders in Hansen and Carr. Hansen is important because Horney's knees were always a wildcard and he could defend fairly well. Carr also gives you that big mean guy off the bench for some toughness to that bench.
final two roster spots.
G. Raja Bell
C. Alek Radojavic
Bell gives the Jazz another shooter and defender. Radojavic gets on the team because he's possible the worst Jazz player I have ever seen.
G. Stockton

Re: All-Time Jazz
Wow, Thurl over Dantley? And no Griffith?
Bobby Hansen? Ronnie Brewer is a better player then Bobby Hansen, hell you could make a legit argument that CJ is probably a better player then Bobby Hansen. Matt Harpring has certainly been a better player then Hansen.

How can you not have Dantley or Maravich.
Dantley is the best scorer in Jazz history.
