Jazz should start looking at the lottery prospects and put the draft pick in consideration while deciding which FAs to resign next 2 years(exception booze, who should be resigned no matter what). if you can find a prospect that has a similar skill set as Brewer/Millsap etc, it would be easier to part with them as you can get similar production with fraction of the cost of resigning those players. granted, there is no guarantee that prospects will turn out good NBA players but it is worth the risk.

but good news all around.

Wish I would have known this earlier so I didn't play Randolph, he has been lights out lately! Oh well...

I would laugh so hard against the Knicks if Lebron breaks his ankle at the end of next season. They sure are putting a lot on one roll of the dice. Odds are they will still stink up the league in 3 years from now.

With the 9th pick in the 2010 NBA draft, the Utah Jazz pick ...... ?

and ... with the 30th pick in the 2010 NBA draft, the Utah Jazz pick? (Dreaming of course)

The madness isn't over yet. The Knicks have activated Marbury, but rumor has it that there might possibly be a swap with the heat involving Marion. My guess there would be to fix the Marbury problem once and for all by removing the distraction.

And the cliff notes on the Jazz draft pick situation is this (time going by has simplified the protection a little bit):
Minnesota gets Utah's 2009 1st round pick if it is 23-30. If not, future protections apply (18-30 in 2010, 16-30 in 2011, 17-30 in 2012, 17-30 in 2013). (PS: this is via the Korver and then Rodney Carney trades)
Then,
Utah gets New York's 2009 1st round pick if it is 23-30. If not, they get New York's unprotected 2010 1st round pick.
So there is a fighting chance the Jazz could finish top 7 in the standings and the Knicks not finish in the top 7 in the standings resulting in no 1st round pick for the Jazz in 2009.

Then there is always the dreaded "future draft considerations" Philly is due from Utah due to the Fesenko deal. Who knows that this one entails--probably something like switching 2nd round draft picks some year so they can get someone they like.

The Knicks were playing Randolph at center, so I guess this means they will have to start Curry or Lee now. Either way they are going to be bad this year, but there is no telling what they could do in the off season. A package of Lee, Harrington, and Curry could yield some nice pieces. But I think that the Knicks are still going to be bottom feeders next year.

hahahahahahahahhahahaahahaha....ya right.

Jerry Sloan would kill Nat Robinson. Why would Utah or NY do this? what a dumbass.

Where was this rumored? In your head?

Jazz don't need Lee, nor Robinson, nor Hassell. Sean Williams doesn't help us too much either.
And like Sheik mentioned, Sloan would kill Robinson and probably Williams too.
The only trade I see the Jazz doing is Almond and Harp for cap space, and even that will still be hard to happen, since Sloan has a mancrush on Harp.

The Jazz would probably like to get their hands on both Lee and Hassell. Lee is an ideal back up and great rebounder, and Hassell is a tough nosed defensive player.

However Lee is just a bigger version of Millsap and Hassell is a poorman's Ronnie Brewer. No thanks.

And LOL at Nate Robinson, I'm surprised Sloan doesn't have a bounty on his head already.

who knows if someone was throwing us more high draft picks that would be interesting but I think Brewer is here to stay. Sloan does like Harping...Collins and Almond are trade bait especially since the contracts run out and the jazz are actively trying to trade almond. Get something instead of nothing (if anyone bites). With what New York has been doing lately who knows they might trade anyone.

I don't think that trade goes through....

Highly skeptical on the "rumored" trade....it would be nice to see--at minimum--a link of some sort to back it up. Doesn't really make sense for anyone involved, especially the knicks, who just worked their tails off the create cap space, but would kill a lot of it by picking up VC.

Also, I wouldn't bank on the Jazz giving up RB any time soon. He will be eligible for an extension the same time that Harp's contract expires. I think the Jazz have Matt's money ear-marked for Ronnie or Paul, whoever looks to be the better investment, and they will likely let the other one walk. Its times like this when you wish you were rooting for Dallas, LA, NY, Cleveland or any other big market team willing to pay the tax to keep its parts together. Its truly depressing to think about all the good young talent we are going to lose in the next two years.

Korver, Memo and Harpring are good young talent? Send them packing, and the Jazz financial problems are all but solved.
