The Bulls were so afraid that the Jazz were going to take Thabo that they traded with Philly for swap picks.

Prior to the draft, the John Paxson hired his recently fired brother Jim as "adviser". The moves for Tyrus & Thabo - and other Bulls blunders (signing Wallace, trading Chandler for crap...) all followed.

Now there is no proof that Jim has any power in bulls organization & John obviously makes the final calls - but all the blunders happened just after John gave his brother a job. The only thing John has done right since 2006 was to draft Rose.
