Bulls/Jazz Idea: Deng, Thabo and Noah for Boozer and Collins

Post#1 » by JordansBulls » Thu Dec 4, 2008 5:28 pm

Bulls trade Luol Deng, Thabo and Joakim Noah to the Jazz for Carlos Boozer and Collins

Jazz Lineup
PG Deron/Price/Almond
SG Thabo/Brewer/Korver
SF Deng/Ak47/CJ Miles
PF Millsap/Noah
C Okur/Fesenko

Bulls lineup
PG Rose/Hunter
SG Gordon/Hughes
SF Nocioni/Tyrus
PF Boozer/Collins/Ruffin
C Gooden/Gray

Jazz need a defensive SG so they get Thabo and they get Deng to play with Williams along with Millsap up front.

Would you guys do that deal?

Ronnie Brewer is a defensive SG.

Jazz look like they might miss the playoffs after this trade. First of all, Thabo would be behind Brewer, Korver, Miles, Harpring and possibly even Almond in the rotation. No need for him at all. AK is better than Deng, so no need for Deng either. Noah is too inconsistent and hasn't proved anything yet. Why would we trade one of the best PF for them?
This package could probably get you Zach Randolph though.

Actually, there is a lot to like about this trade. The only thing that stops the Jazz, in my opinion, is Deng's contract. I like Deng a lot, though not at the price he got from Chicago. Sefolosha is a Sloan type of player, and Noah is an energy who's activity could really help a team that is sometime a bit plodding in the post.

Boozer seems to have one foot out the door, as is, and if the Jazzare convinced that they will lose him, then this is an offer that has merit. The main problem with it, though, is that Deng's contract probably keeps us from re-signing Millsap.

Deng looks like a bad signing. Actually a terrible one. I'm not sure why we'd bail Chicago out of that.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

A Deron, Brew, Deng, AK, Memo lineup intrigues me.

Sorry but that trade is awful. I wouldn't trade for deng, thabo or Noah for milsap, let alone for Boozer.

How is Noah better than Millsap in this regard?

This would be a very, very bad trade, I think.

Because he's not undersized.

I'm not saying this is a good trade, just that, if we end up moving Boozer, this deal at least gets us three assets.

That's fair enough. We'll just disagree on that point. Millsap at 6'1 would be more valuable than Noah, for me.
