Denver won the Division, Why it sucks to be a jazz fan

Post#1 » by Lava Rock Kid » Wed Dec 17, 2008 11:03 pm

I am calling the Northwest Division.
The jazz will be lucky to win half of these games on this road trip.
Denver is playing so well with billups (**** you detroit)
Denver is getting such a large lead that we wont catch.

Now Booz is not gonna be back anytime soon and AK is unlikely to play.

This had to be our year to win it all, because next year we are losing talent.

You know what sucks about being a Jazz fan?
We all know and accept the fact that the Jazz are not going to be able bring back all of this team next season.
We also know we wont get better talent due to the salary cap.

So we are going to go back to the Stockton/Malone days where we have two very highly paid quality players surrounded by scrubs.

A look at the 2007-2008 Salaries show what we have to compete with. I wish the NBA would make a hard cap like the NFL. But if you sign a player you have to pay that player.

This analysis is before teams like LA added Gasol, Or phoenix adding shaq.

How would it be if we knew that Larry Miller would spend another 40 mil to resign booz and millsap and korver and okur.

Imagine if Boozer or millsap decides to leave so we could sign and trade them for say an athletic defensive big man. Basically this summer one will leave and we will get no compensation because we cant afford it.

I dont blame Miller, I understand his econimic position in a small market. But look at all the talent that has been purchased ahead of us.

2007-2008 TEAM-BY-TEAM SALARY ANALYSIS

1. New York Knicks
$95.294 million

How so?

I am assuming you are speaking about Denver winning the division.
Well we didnt beat Denver by much last season and they have a pretty good lead.
And We cant beat the injury bug.
And Sloan still plays Matt Harping (Did I mention he played high school football?)

Give them time. I still don't buy them being a great team. They have played a lot of softies and beat them, big deal. We'll see how it goes during the rest of the season.

Word is, South Beach is ecstatic that they
won't be seeing Millsaps talents again this season...

As bad as things look now (and really, it's not THAT bad), it looked a LOT worse last year.

Cheer up.

Keith McClown, Milt Falatio, Hoffa, Jason Fart, Girichuck... I don't know, at least this year we have the staff to make it happen, it all lies in effort, and it is comforting to know that even if we get into the playoffs as an 8th seed, that we still have a championship caliber roster capable of turning it on.

I don't know if they're a "great" team either, but of their 8 losses, only 1 is to a .500 or worse team and that was without A.I. or Billups in the lineup. They beat Boston at Boston and San Antonio in San Antonio.
I think the Billups for A.I. trade was huge for them.

The Jazz have already lost to 6 teams who currently are .500 or worse. That's 6 of 11 losses. In the end, I'm afraid for the Jazz it will come down to not who they beat, but who they lost to. It'll be hard for them to win the division if they don't beat the teams they should beat. The home record is almost assured to be worse than last year so unless they make a drastic improvement on the road they will end up with a worse overall record than last year.

Nope, I don't see the Jazz winning the NW this year unless they really turn things around and catch on fire. Who knows though, if Boozer's sore clitoris heals and Milsap comes off the bench with AK the Jazz on paper should be tough to beat.

We're going to have the same record as the Nuggets but we'll have the tie breakers.

Nuggets won the divison? You do realize Jazz are 2 games back battling injuries the entire year (starting to get healthy), and that its only late December, right?

Im not buying this, Jazz and the Nuggets will both be battling towards the end of the year for the Northwest. And this Boozer situation will be forgotten within 2 weeks (the guy said hes opting out, why wouldnt he want a multi year contract instead of risking an injury, WHAT IS THE BIG DEAL???)

oh, ****.

We're 2 games back with only 40 or so to go?

We're screwed. Nobody has ever overcome something like that.

Trade the whole team.

Wait...Lava rock kid started this?

That kid sucks.

My bad.
