You guys were missing your best player and still fought the Lakers tough until the end. A lesser team, playing on the road, would have been done after the 1st half or at least done after the Lakers regained a 15-point lead at the end of the 3rd. You guys are coached well and have character. Just lack the talent right now with Boozer out.

1) Another game that proves IMHO that we are better served with a classic center... look for Koufos +/- stat... and then compare with the rest of the roster... and in this case it is not just a stupid stat... it showed in game...

2) Koufos is not just "Collins replacement for spare minutes"; this kid should end up sooner than later as a regular rotation man...

3) We got some stops and all of a sudden we go down 3 and... sorry guys I know you love him... and then Williams got completely owned by his defenders... and not that they double team him or something.... of course there were some other bad lays from other people too... yet the fact remains that he was unable to sun his team...

3) I beg Millsap's pardon... he can contribute even against the best team in the league on the road...

LOLLLL Boozer as their best player? There's a guy named Deron Williams that's 10x better. Millsap > Boozer IMO.

Good game, you guys really need to find a way to stop Kobe or your never going to beat us in a 7 game series.

Don't be fooled by the boxscore, Brewer didn't have a good game , and CJ Miles played better than him tonight. It's not a coincidence if CJ is slighty better in the +/- column.
Brewer got owned by Kobe all night long. And offensively they were sagging off him as the Lakers always do. He got his points but that's it. Remember Game 5 last year ? Brewer was our leading scorer at the beginning of the game with something like 10 of our 15 first points , but since he was getting murdered on the other end of the floor it was pointless.

Brewer is VERY disapointing defensively. Sure, he is not help by the referees but that is because he is such a soft defender. He will never get a reputation as a defensive specialist from the refs because he is just not a defensive specialist. Kobe was toying with him all night long. He scored 40 points in 30 minutes, this is flat out horrible.
Lock down defender my ass.

What the hell... I'm just a fan... I enjoyed it anyway!

One last thing... just say goodbye to any chance of retain Millsap/Boozer/Okur... it will be a nasty off-season for Jazz brass...

Deron didnt look good tonight, missing way too many shots...and its too bad, with him shooting that poorly and the entire guardline playing that bad defensively, we were still in the game near the end.

Short of clotheslining him on his way to the basket, I don't think anyone can stop him. Obviously, Kobe has all the talent in the world, can shoot with anyone and is very athletic. The Jazz have nobody who can defend him. And when anyone does get too close to him, the whistle blows. What can you do? Try and stop others is all. I think your best bet to beat the Lakers is to make Kobe the scorer (40+ points) as this tends to get the rest of the team out of sync.

Too bad. We might have even had a real chance to win if CJ didnt lay an enormous crap out on the court in the last 4 minutes of the game.

Oh well . . . hard to feel bad on a night where the Utes won the Sugar Bowl against the #4 ranked Crimson Tide.

Hello guys, you gave Kobe the easiest (or the most silent) 40 points I have seen him make in a long time. That speaks volumes.

Yeah you can't really stop him, but you can at least make it hard for him. There's a difference in making him score 40+ off mostly jumpers than scoring 40+ on easy shots. He drives too easily against you guys. You guys need a big that can block shots and better team defense before you can compete the Lakers.

Oh and btw Boozer makes your team defense worse than it was tonight and he didn't even play. Dude does not know how to rotate lol.

Something brought up in half our threads, because it's true.

I wouldn't feel TOO self-impressed, by the way. The Lakers are still a class above us when we're at full health, but with Booz out (he would have helped us on offense more than he hurt us on defense), Millsap in a brace, and Deron still hobbled with the ankle (which he will be all season, sadly), our teams aren't as far apart as last night made it seem.

Has Boozer played his last game for the Jazz? I wonder if you guys could trade him to Miami before he bolts. Miami wouldn't have to worry about making capspace if they got him now... they'd get bird rights right? Maybe you could exchange him for expirings like Marion and a draft pick or 3 way marion elsewhere.

Anyways I'm just wondering what you guys are going to do about your front court. To me it seems you guys really need an intimidator down low. This summer looks like it'll make or break your next few years in the league. If healthy though I think you guys can count on Millsap, Okur, and Koufos (I like this kid, he's what 19 still?) and just bring in a guy like Camby in the offseason for cheapish. Millsap brings a lot of toughness and I think you can bank on Koufos improving as he gains experience and muscle. I'd also consider going after Azubuike if you guys want a 2 guard that can play solid defense, he's done a decent job against Kobe in the past during spot minutes.

Anyways you guys are looking really beat up, it was a good game considering. Hope you guys finally get healthy for the playoffs. Good game.

Thank you, sir.

I'm thinking holding on to Millsap/Okur may be the better option, but even so, we do need an interior presence as you said. Whether that's a more developed Koufos or Fesenko, I can't say. I feel pretty optimistic about them both, but they're clearly not ready for that in the here and now. But Kosta's solid play makes losing one of our big men hurt a little less this summer.

I like Azubuike's game a lot. But I'm worried he may cost a little more than we want to put out, with us already having Brew/CJ (and if we're trying to retain Korver).

Wow, dude, I thought you were joking before, but now I'm convinced.

Did Ronnie date your sister or something? The good thing about your posts, is everytime you open your mouth, Brewer shuts you up for about 4-6 months.

Thanks for bringing Karma to the Jazz.

Brewer and CJ will both be good players for this Jazz team for many years. Book it.

Brewer and CJ are to blame for every loss, and Boozer being out has nothing to do with it.

Can I stay?
