About Williams I think 99.8 % Jazz fans would tell you Deron's the real deal; he's just been really bothered about his injury, and the Jazz have been forced to play so many rare lineups due to a massive number of injuries. Willimas is coming along, yet he's most probabloy playing at about 80% right now.

On Boozer you certainly would hear one or two different opinions/expectations for each member of the forum. I suppose he will be playing again by mid february, and if he come back at the level he was when he left injured, then he will get big time money, be it in Utah or in another place.

I'm not a great Boozer fan, but he has game, and Sloan's been very supportive with him every time fans and media went hard on him... so I think Jazz brass will be working for Boozer's resingning here.

Deron's play has been fine. No one is worried about him. He had a nasty ankle injury that took some, time, and the last couple of games he's been fighting respiratory infection and games have been blowouts so his playing time has been limited. In the last month, when Deron plays normal minutes (35+) his stats have been just fine. He's still probably the 2nd best PG in the game (after Paul).

As far as Boozer goes, he seems intent on burning every bridge he crosses. This last stunt with his surgery and subsequent failure to update the Jazz on said surgery may have been the final straw. Even the talking heads on the local team owned TV and Radio stations are talking about trading him now and even suggesting that it might just be better to let him walk and use the money on other guys next year.

In my opinion, Boozer has probably played his last game as a Jazz man. He may return in time to be showcased for a couple of games before the trading deadline, but my feeling is that he will be moved by mid-february. If he doesn't get traded, then he'll just milk his injury through the rest of the season. I think he probably has a deal in place with another team (likely Miami or LA), so he's just biding his time.

I hate to be the guy who blaim's Deron's season on an injury, but if you just look at his stats it's pretty obvious his ankle has significantly changed his game this year.

For one, he's shooting almost one more three point attempt per game, meaning he's settling a bit for his jump shot. Two, even with the added three pointer, he's taking a shot less per game on average, meaning he's not getting to the hole for easy basketsT. And three, he is averaging more then a free throw less per game then last year, meaning he isn't attcking the basket and getting to the line.

Then considering he played most of December at anywhere from 50-80%, and his recent battles with a sinus infection and the flu, and it's really not surprising that he's "only" at 15 and 10.

You could definitely argue that Chauncey, Parker and Devin Harris are having better seasons, and obviously Paul has been phenominal again, but I still feel that Deron is pretty clearly the second best PG in the game right now.

Yeah, this is a "lost season" of sorts for anyone who'd make the argument that Deron is as good as or better than Paul. His ankle isn't going to be 100% again this year, it seems to me. It's terribly disappointing, but Deron is still a beast. And if he had to play on a respirator, the Jazz would still dominate the Hornets.

And 85.675% of stats are made up.
There comes a time when Deron has to stop blaming an injury and start looking at himself. I love Deron & wear his jersey everywhere but i reluctantly have to admit that aside from their head to heads, C3P is better. At least this season anyway. His play this season does not deserve an all star spot. Sorry.

I would guarantee you that DWill would never blame poor play on an injury. That only comes from the fans, though I think it is warranted.

Really, the only way you could compare the two players would be if the same thing happened to the Hornets as us. CP3 goes down with an ankle injury that is excruciatingly slow to heal, then his All-star PF, West, goes down just before he gets back. You tell me how well Paul does in that situation. The only comparison I can think of would be the last game we played the Hornets, since West was basically not there. You saw how that game turned out.

All in all, I think it has been an extremely frustrating season for Deron. He has obviously never had an injury to this extent, and doesn't know how to deal with it that well. I agree with the idea that he is close to %80. He shows sparks of what he had last year, but I know it is still there. It's easy to put all the blame on Deron for our losses, but I would rather look at his leadership in keeping us in the thick of things in a very difficult season to date.

Deron has been hurt, then he has been playing hurt, and lately he has battled the flu. So its not surprising that his game has suffered. However he has been out there battling it out. He is the future of the Jazz.
Boozer? Well he probably won't play another game this season. He probably has a contract in place at the end of the season (Most likely Miami). He lied his way to Utah, and now he is playing all sorts of theatrics to get his ass out of here. Good bye. Millsap is better, and a much better fit with Okur. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
