Less then 24 hours left, all quiet on the Jazz front. My guess is the Jazz are trying to make a few package deals, and if it doesn't happen, they've got a fall back deal to clear up space by trading Almond for a second round draft pick, or the right to swap second round picks. Just a guess.

Well John Salmons is out of the picture after being traded today with Brad Miller for Drew Gooden and Andres Nocioni.

Really thought Salmons was one of the guys the Jazz were trying to get their hands on.

Dude, Salmons would be HORRIBLE here. He would find himself behind Mo on the depth chat after 2 games. Thats one of the last players that would work in the jazz system.

Are you kidding? He's an awesome shooter, 47%/42%/82%, a very good passer, doesn't need to have the ball in his hands to play well, and he'd be a big time upgrade of what CJ has given us this year.

I'd love to have John Salmons on the Jazz.

Well, 10 hours left, and looks like nothing.

Lets hope health is enough for this team to go far because it's very likely the last 3 months we'll see this team put together like this.

The interesting thing is, now the Jazz are likely to have tremendous trade assets next year. If the economy continues to struggle and teams are looking for expirings, then the Jazz are likely to have 4 good sized contracts available (Boozer, Okur, Harpring, Korver). Its frightening to think of all those guys possibly leaving, but it would set the Jazz up to be one of the prime players in that mythical 2010 free agent market. Plus, at that point, I think AK only has one year left on his deal as well, so he becomes a tradeable asset too. At least Deron is locked up for a while, becasue after that, who knows where this team will look like by the time the 2010-11 season tips off?

Hey, at least we didn't get worse ala Houston who traded their starting PG (even if it was Alston) for Kyle Lowry and Brian Cook. Talk about scrubs.

And at least we didn't "shoot ourselves in the foot" (pun intended) with the whole Tyson Chandler incident.

^^Truth. According to espn.com's chat, Jazz were amongst the teams going for Salmons, but other than that I guess KOC wasn't lookin to deal.
