Let's keep it civil, guys.
This was another disappointing loss (especially since I had to listen to the Spurs' mind-numbingly bias broadcast of it). As it is for everyone else, my biggest concern is entering the playoffs is facing the Lakers as the 8th seed. That's a sweep waiting to happen. Of course, given our recent string of pathetic showings, I'm not convinced we can even beat Denver -- but it's at least a reasonable proposition.
Boozer has been complete garbage of late, and I'm not expecting that to turn around in the short time we now have to get playoff-ready. I just hope Deron turns up the heat, because that's pretty much our only chance.

BOOZER - How much more time do you need to declare yourself at 100%? ... oh wait... you've already declared yourself about 100 %!!! Boy, you have had all the chances you can get with the Jazz team... and guess what? You didn't make the cut. I hope you stand by your word and opt out to get a taste of your own proclamed raise. But please.... stand by your word and opt out! Oh wait... what the heck am I saying... YOUR WORD??? I'm a freaking nerd!!
KIRILENKO - At the beggining of the season when people was talking about 6th Man Award... wow... I really didn't understand what the heck were people talking about!! Kirilenko played just average from the bench... and "average" has been his better perfomances this year with the Jazz!!! And he's been playing crap since coming back from surgery. He will not carry us anywhere. Period. Not now; not ever. Impossibe mission for KOC: To try to trde him.

Some moron asked, who was the last guy to shut him down....well, Steve freaking Blake kept him to only 17 in the last game. So there, that was the last guy to keep him in check.
Did you watch the Blazers/Spurs game?
Don't answer that, your response already shows you didn't. Parker was getting past Blake and into the lane just as easily as he always does. The problem is Portland's interior defense is a lot better than ours.

So what youre saying is that we wasted our money on the wrong position? We should have gone after a journeyman like Pryzbilla and then could have survived with paying an average guy like Blake to play point? Thats all I hear from the apologists, that Deron is nothing without help from everyone else, its always someone elses fault....well then he doesnt deserve all the accolades you give him.
And by the way, I watched every minute of the Spurs/Blazers game.

When was the last time ANYONE gave Deron the accolade of being a good defensive player? I think he is average at best, it is the weakest part of his game. But he more than makes up for that on the other end of the floor. He is the best PG in the league for our system, he is doing all he can to will this team to wins, but the rest of the parts aren't following suit. AK and Boozer were nonexistent in this game, Memo finally had a decent game.
The Jazz aren't wasting money on Deron, they are wasting money on AK, Boozer and Memo. 2 of the 3 need to go. They just HAVE to. As of late, I prefer to keep Memo and move AK and Booz for a defensive PF and more reliable 3. Or keep AK and ship Memo and Booz. But really, something there has to give!
The fact is, if we didn't give Deron a max contract, somebody would have, and we would have lost our premier PG. What PG that is available in this league could fill his job?
Complain about the money our terrible bigs get, or even CJ. Hell, complain about Sloan! Deron is the farthest thing from a problem for this team. If we get some interior defense, then that would really help PG penetration. Would you rather have to make assists against Boozer or Duncan?
Oh hey, where were you when DWill outplayed CP3 AGAIN?
BTW, enough with the gross sexual references, grow up a little. This isn't 8th grade...

Word is, South Beach is ecstatic that they
won't be seeing Millsaps talents again this season...

Re: Utah Jazz (47-31) @ San Antonio Spurs (50-28)
...Anyways. I agree. For the most part, I see this years playoffs as a lost cause. That doesn't mean that I won't be at the games doing my best to keep the Delta Center the loudest arena in the league, I will cheer this team on until they're out, but once it happens, major changes are due. LHM is gone, Sloan is nearly finished and a new era of Utah Jazz needs to begin, even if it means completely blowing this team up.
Booz and AK need to go. No matter how inconsistent Okur has been with us at times, he has won too many games for us to let him go, besides he has outshot boozer the whole last half of the season.
Right now, it's a tought time to be a Jazz fan, but I'm at peace with that. When your expectations aren't high, it's hard to be let down, right?

From the outside looking in, I think Okur is a must keep. He's what makes the team spacing and back cuts work. Get rid of him and teams like the rockets can clog the lane with bigs. Kirilenko is easily replaceable, if someone will take him. Boozer, eh. How long does it take players to get comfortable in the system, though?

I actually think you guys did a great job on Parker after the 1st Q. Bringing doubles, sagging off other players kept Parker under control as much as possible. Obviously he'll find the basket eventually but I think DWill did a respectable job on Parker.

I heard that after this loss everyone on the team tried to use a gun to commit mass suicide.
It didnt work though because everyone kept dropping the gun.
Some days I wonder why I root for the Jazz

Re: Utah Jazz (47-31) @ San Antonio Spurs (50-28)
Bad luck all around for the Jazz. If 3 or 4 of AK's shots drop, 3 or 4 of our shots don't rim out in the fourth, and if the Spurs don't get bailed out on 3 or 4 of their shots that had no business going in...we win that game. Not to mention if Boozer showed up a little sooner in the game...
I was extremely frustrated with how they ended the game...there was about 30 seconds or so left in the game and they just gave up! No quick fouls or anything, it took Brewer a whole 10-15 seconds to run over and foul whoever it was that had the ball and they were only down 5 or 6 points. I just don't understand what the heck they were doing, even after they gave up they still almost came back. If they would have at least tried the might have been able to steal that one away.
Brewer, Williams, and Okur were the highlights of the game. I just about fell out of my seat when Memo ran the floor for an open dunk late in the game.
Boozer, AK, and the bench really let us down. You cant blame AK all that much, shooting just isn't his game and sometimes he is on and sometimes hes not. He was just the slightest bit off all night, he played decent defense and made some passes though. Boozer did nothing at all until the second half. At least the second half he made himself look a bit more useful. I think the bench really let us down for the most part, Korver played decent but had some stupid plays, P-Mill seemed to be fairly ineffective and Harpring and Knight didn't do anything.
I think we really needed this game, not just for the playoff standings but for the teams confidence. Maybe they can take something out of it from watching how they played in the second half but it could also crush the last little bit of confidence they had left. I guess we will wait and see how they bounce back from this one (hopefully its not like the Miami bounce)
