The Birdman will never play in Utah, there is no way Denver lets him go to a division rival.

ComeStaind wrote:I want Ty Lawson in the draft. He's a true point (unlike Price), can shoot (unlike Knight) and would be a change from Deron who's much bigger. This would solidify our backup point situation for the next few years. Other than that, I know I want to re-sign Millsap but only at the right price. So I would want them and the rest of the guys below to be kept based on their hustle, defensive capabilities and effort, age, and contracts. Other than that, I'm not so sure right now. I don't feel like racking my brain.

Deron-Lawson
Brewer-Korver
Miles
Millsap
Koufos

Lawson would never make it in Utah's system, he's just not our type of PG, but a guy like Maynor would do wonders if you ask me. He could be a combo guard here and Sloan could bring back his 2 PG lineups :D

I would love to see Utah draft Terrence Williams & Danny Green to add some defensive minded guys that aren't a liability on offense for the future. Then sign a veteran like Antonio McDyess who's a FA I believe

If you look at teams like boston and Cleveland, what do the Jazz need to become a championship caliber team ?
- Great defense , thoughness
- Good outside shooting from role players

So this team needs to have around Williams either warriors type of players, or good shooters.
What are the players that we absolutely need to keep :
Koufos (GREAT prospect)
Millsap (play as hard as you can)
Korver (great outside shooter)
and maybe CJ Miles (if he starts to play defense)
I'd like to keep Price too because he is also a hardworker.

Then, what are the players i'd want, knowing that we'd also rather have not too old players :

- Heart/Defense :
Nick Collison
Jeff Foster
Udonis Haslem
Leon Powe
Emeka Okafor
Joel Prizbilla
Nicolas Batum
Trevor Ariza
Chuck Hayes
Joachim Noah
Anderson Varejao

- Shooting : Nobody

- Both :
Shane Battier
Andres Nocioni

It's true, in order to win on the road you need two things, good defense and better outside shooting.

Jazz have neither.

nbadraft.net has us taking bj mullens with the 21st pick as of now.

i'd like that. he had a mediocre year at osu but would have been a top five pick if he could have come out straight from high school. he was great in the mcdonalds hs all-american game and he's a legit 7 foot with size, agility, and athleticism. to have all of those is extremely rare. to team him up with fellow buckeye koufos would be kind of cool too, and we could have those two, and millsap which is a youthful, athletic, brawny group.

Mullens was so raw that he couldn't even get more than 20 minutes in college, let alone help Utah in the next 3-4 years. Utah needs guys that will help them in 2 years max or else the draft is a bust IMO.

I agree with J_Ray :

With Koufos,Fesenko,Brewer,CJ, and even Almond, Utah has enough prospect as it is.
Talent is not our problem, now we need THOUGHNESS, EXPERIENCE and DEFENSE. Those three things are hard to find in a rookie.
I'm down for trading our draft picks in order to get quality defenders.

i watched bj mullens since his high school days and he is not a good pick for jazz. he is a prospect that won't contribute for at least 2 years and has some work ethic issues that won't still well with sloan.

this is probably a pipe dream but i wonder if jazz could do a deal for thabeet. maybe a deal surrounding brewer/koufos/pick etc.

Then how come your list has so many of the same names as his list?
