Jazz vs. Lakers ....Good Thing?

Post#1 » by HolyToledo » Mon Apr 13, 2009 7:21 pm

If we need to beat the Lakers anyway to win the championship might as well play them in round 1 and get it over with....Whats the use of playing Denver and beating them only to lose in round 2? Believe it or not even with the way Jazz are playing, there is no way I would want to play Jazz in round 1 if I was a Laker fan. Even though Jazz playing like worse team in the league right now, they at times play like best team in the league WHEN THEY HUSTLE. Maybe the lazy Ass Jazz can put together a good round 1 upsetting Lakers and building momentum to make a run like they did 2 years ago.

All I am saying playing Lakers in round 1 is not the problem. The problem is they are playing wussy Bball with no defensive effort. Lets see how Sloan gets these lazy asses to come up with some engergy and play close to their athletic ability.
Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!

Hey dumbass, yes there is a 95% chance you would beat the Jazz in a 7 game series, it would probably be a short series.

However, most intelligent Laker fans would much prefer a matchup with Dallas, a team they have beaten 6 straight games with litte problems.

To get back to the point of the thread, no I don't think its a good think if the Jazz match up with LA, I'd rather go to Denver, Houston, San Antonio, try to win a series and if not make a run at least gain more valuable playoff experience.

"most" is debatable....dallas is unpredictable when josh howard plays well. add in utah's inability to win on the road, along with deron's injury (injuries? what's with that dtd ab sprain) and boozer still shaking the rust off and it certainly seems the jazz would be a easier matchup than the mavs.

i don't think you can dispute that this year's jazz took a step backwards from last year's team, and the lakers worked them in 6.

Being honest, we cannot beat LA.
So I wouldn't like a long series if we don't pass, due to some of our players will be more apreciate.
Imagine the scenario we lose in the 7th game and Millsap, Boozer and AK do a great job. Maybe KOC would maintain at least two of them... and we don't need it if we want to be a better team in the future.

That was before you guys dropped 2 VERY winnable games! And Dallas is playing good ball. Utah is in a funk and thats the truth. You guys are limping into the playoffs. Earlier in the yr i would take Dallas but you guys are cold at the wrong time... sorry dont take it personal.

Utah make be playing bad right now, but still doesn't take away the wear and tear you take from playing them unlike the Mavs. People call the Jazz cheaters for a reason don't they?

I don't care what any wishful-minded fan says. No one in the west will beat the Lakers, especially not in the first round.

I don't know what to make of this thread, but I'll just say this......the Jazz will be a formidable team to tussle with in a 7 game series I don't care who they play. The Lakers will be focused and they will approach the playoffs with a mission to carry out.

Lets remember guys this is the West, every team that makes the playoffs has a chance to advance. To bad we can't say the same for the East, teams 6,7 and 8 may as well book vactions spots in 2 weeks cause those series will be over quick.
