That is just the point- my thought is that Sloan would never tell someone to shoot 20 treys, regardless of the circumstance. His system has proven effective over the years, but his lack of flexibility and creativity does not help the Jazz win.

Besides, McGrady has been out the better part of the year. Adelman wanted Battier to shoot the three because he recognized it was a good shot for them. Sloan would more likely complain about the long rebounds on the shots he missed than recognize the the effectiveness of 15 points in 10 shots, IMHO.

Sloan would let a player shot the open ball at will if the guy demonstrate he can hit'em consistently... the fact is we don't have that guy.

You're right; and Okur too. They use to make shots, so Sloan allow them to shoot.
There's no issue for debate here methinks. Just anti-Sloan rants...
