NBA Draft Lottery 6:30 MTN ESPN

Post#1 » by Racer X » Tue May 19, 2009 11:16 pm

Ross Siler has an excellent breakdown of the Jazz's interests in the Draft lottery at blogs.sltrib.com/jazz.

He claims:
Best-case lottery scenario for Jazz: 1. Washington, 2. Toronto, 3. Sacramento.
Worst-case lottery scenario for Jazz: 1. New York, 2. Oklahoma City, 3. Minnesota.

I love watching the draft lottery when the Jazz are not in it (the '04 Draft Lottery was one of the hardest Jazz related experiences of my life) because somebody who has a Top 3 chance just gets screwed and their rep cannot even hide it. Its like that Simpsons episode where Bart slo-mo's Ralphs heart breaking.

^ no doubt. I am really bummed that the Clippers got the #1 pick. Whoever is drafted there is doomed. How many household items did Blake Griffin just destroy? I was really rooting for the Grizzlies.

The Thunder are in a good position. Thabeet or Harden fits perfectly into that lineup. They also have a ton of cap room to try and keep all of their young horses in the future.

I wish the Thunder would have gotten the number 1 pick. I like their team and Griffin would have fit nicely into their lineup. Oh well, the Clippers always stink and the trend will probably continue even with this pick but you never know.

Who cares? I did not want the Thunder to get it the most, after the Knicks. OKC has the most promise of all the lottery teams and they are in our division.

Someone with photo shop please crop Sloanfelds picture please. It's really annoying.

Anyways, glad the Clippers got it. Another PF won't help them immediately. It may if in 4-5 years, but not now.

NOTHING would help the Clips. If they had the first three picks in the 1984 draft they would've taken Dinner Bell Mel, Sam Bowtie and Sam Perkienips. This org is a black hole where a certain type of radiation destabilizes the connections between the neurons in the brains of the front office and the coaching staff. This team is an embarrassment to Socal. The only thing they've got going for them is Lawler and Smith on the mics. They will bumble this pick somewhow.

The Clippers will never be a respectable organization until they move out of the Staples Center to a new arena in a different city. They should move to either 1) Anaheim (Honda Center), 2) Seattle (become new Seattle Sonics), 3) Las Vegas (City really wants a team), or 4) some other not previously-mentioned city/arena. No one even cares about the Clippers in Los Angeles. The Lakers are the only thing that matters.

Yup, it's good that the Knicks aren't going to get a HIGH pick this year, and some teams like GS, Minnesota, OKC, and Memphis will easily be better than the Knicks if they stay healthy. I think we're basically all but guranteed a great pick from the Knicks next year.

Hmmm..
The real question is how does Blake Griffin affect the rotation of Camby, Kaman, and Zack?
LOL
This almost has the drama of the Jazz off-season.
Camby and Kaman lovers rejoice!
It's like heroin for trade junkies.

Are you insane?

They are in our division, they have an extremely talented and very young team; if they were to get Griffin they could be a play off team NEXT year.

... in all honesty Jazz fans if the Thunder draft Thabeet or Harden (probably Thabeet) they are a SCARY SCARY team. Westbrook, Thabo, Green, Durrant, Thabeet. Talented squad right there. And Minnesota drafting at 6 and 18 they will have some options to either move up or trade. The Window is getting smaller and smaller here in the Mid West, we all know how talented Portland is and it's obvious Denver reigns supreme. It's time for Utah to get very aggressive, or we could be stuck in mediocrity

I could care less if they are in our division, I like their team and I hope they do well. Sure it stinks they are in our division but honestly if we cant compete for the Division title against Denver and Portland who cares if OKC gets any better.

I wonder which team will take Rubio.

Agreed. Will he end up there? Who knows. But I think they'll pick him.

Kobe didn't want to play for the Hornets...they picked him anyway. Yi didn't want to play for the Bucks...they picked him anyway. For the Grizzlies to just shrug their shoulders, give up and take a lesser player would be stupid; pick Rubio, call his bluff, and if you've got to trade him, trade him. You'll get more value that way than by just settling for the 3rd best player in a two-man draft.

I agree, although Kobe and Yi would never consider Greece or Spain as a long term career option.
