Utah certainly would care about drafting Derrick Favors, Ed Davis or Evan Turner.

If the Jazz were to trade now it likely would get about 7th pick value. I can't see it falling further than 13, and the difference between 1 and 7 is worlds different than 7 and 13.

Craig Brackins is our man if we are later in the lottery. This year was the draft of point guards (good for us, Deron's backup is coming) and next year is the power forward position's turn to be the star of the show.
And, I also think Cole Aldrich would be a nice pickup....had to throw him in

Then you never spent any time on the Bulls board after we traded the Knicks Eddy Curry for their unprotected 2006 1st rounder and the right to swap picks with them in 2007. We had at least two Knick-tracking threads, each of which reached 100 pages (I think). The Knicks were bad throughout the season leading up to the draft, but most of us never expected to get a #2 draft pick out of them. And we also got the right to swap draft picks with them the next year, which netted us the #9 pick and Joakim Noah. Those tracking threads were good times indeed.

Sure, our GM wound up making a pretty risky and stupid pick with Tyrus Thomas over Lamarcus Aldridge and Brandon Roy in 2006, but if we had gotten one of the latter two we probably wouldn't have been in the lottery last season and wouldn't have lucked into the #1 pick, so it's all cool. And just because our GM drafted stupidly, doesn't mean that yours would.
In short, good luck in taking the Knicks for another high draft pick, and have fun tracking their progress.

I will be super stoked if the Knicks draft Jennings.

I also would love it if they drafted Holiday, Flynn or Evans.
The one guy I think would be great for them ( and thus horrible for us) is Curry. He is the kind of shooter and playmaker that could really take that team to the next level. The good thing is that it doesn't look like he will be available. Let's just pray they don't find a way to get Rubio, that would be horrible.
I am a little nervous here, since the last time I was in this position as a fan was in 2007, when Dallas (I'm a Cowboys fan) held the Cleveland Browns' pick for the following draft. The Browns had just drafted #3, and had held a top 12 pick in each of the previous 6 drafts, while never drafting lower than 17th and only drafting outside of the top 2 twice since being brought back into the NFL in 1999.
So what happens? They catch fire, win 10 games, nearly make the playoffs and suddenly play like one of the next offensive powerhouses of the league, resulting in the 22nd pick of the 2008 NFL draft. And where do they draft the next season? 5th.

Even if they somehow were able to luck into drafting Rubio he wouldn't help them that much this coming year imo. He pushes his shots from behind the arc in the Euro league, so I see him struggling to make 3's in the NBA for a season or two.
That pick is going to be golden for the Jazz next year around this time. If this draft wasn't so weak, I could see the Jazz packaging their first this year, and next year's first (not the Knicks pick) to move up in this draft.
Who would you take with the 20th pick?

The 20th is too unpredictable. The Jazz never thought they would be able to draft Ronnie Brewer a few years back. They should just rank their top 20 and let the pieces fall.

Who would you take with the 20th pick?
Its all about who is available, obviously. My ideal scenario--in a not so realistic world--would see Jordan Hill fall down the board and the Jazz swoop in and pick him up. I would also love to have Stephan Curry fall. Neither will happen, though.
To be realistic, but still optimistic, I would say that seeing Blair fall to us would be the best position. I think he is a lock to be a solid starter, bare minimum. His knees might give out down the road, but I think we will get Millsapian (lol) production from him throughout his 4 year rookie contract. Having him in the fold will let the Jazz do whatever they need to in order to maintain fiscal responsibility in regard to Boozer and Millsap, while still be assured of having toughness, rebounding and scoring in the paint should either or both of them leave. In the event that we have both of them back for reasonable $$, he will be an awesome 4th big guy and allow us to explore trades down the road. I think Blair is the best dollar-for-dollar deal in this draft. Very little risk, a high floor, and a relatively high ceiling.
Buuuut, he will probably be gone. For him to get past NJ, Indiana, Detroit and Chicago who all need a player just like him will be a tough sell.
The next best scenario would see Eric Maynor available and us picking him up. This is more likely, but less ideal. With his all around game, maturity and NBA-readiness, I could see him contributing right away as D-Will's backup and playing in a two PG backcourt alongside our boy as well.
Our third best option would be to fall back to a Lawson/Collison pickup. I don't partcularly like Sam Young, James Johnson, Terrence Williams, Jeff Teague or any of those guys that are being mentioned in that area and/or in connection with the Jazz. It's either one of the first two options, or pick up whoever we like best out of those two veteran PG prospects. Each one will be a capable backup in the league, imo.
The other thing we could look at is finding a defensive minded wing to develop and spending the pick on him. Those are almost impossible for us as fans to spot, though, so I won't hazard a guess as to who that might be.

Jeez, why not add Griffin to the list of players you would like to see fall.

Sometimes players fall. Maybe Griffin shoots a cop or something.
Does Portland draft before us?

"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

Yep. That said, Draft Day is like Xmas for Pritchard...he won't be able to sit still. Who knows where the Blazers will end up drafting; they could turn their whole roster over on Draft Day and I wouldn't be surprised.

Reports (per the wiretap) state that Knicks are trying to trade for the 5th pick and in return trade #5 & #8 for #2, so that they can get Rubio. If that is the case, we should get a really good pick next year. I don't see that improving them much in the short run of things.
