Re: Millsap Market Value
I think a 5 year 35 million contract is a fair contract for Milsap. The Jazz start his contract at the lowest possiby point.

Have a buyout for the last year.
It increases the trade value tremendously.
I wouldn't mind a deal where Millsap gets 50mil over 5 years as long as that last year has a buyout of 1.5 mil or something.
Just my take and the direction I'd try to shoot for if I was teh GM.
A team option/cheap buyout is always a plus. Anything over $8 mill is pretty crazy and in this economy even that is high. I expect many FA's will have to settle for a bit less than they think. Lee won't get close to $10 mill...or $9 mill. Boozer will be lucky to get $10 mill.
CENSORED... No comment.

Re: Millsap Market Value
Do you really think that Presti can put so much money in Millsap? They didn't get Thabeet, but got Mullens, so do they really hope that this combo can fill the need? Or are they getting prepared for another year of mediocority?

Re: Millsap Market Value
someone (memphis or OKC) might overpay him but jazz shouldnt. we know he is undersized, if his effort isnt there he would easily go back to 10-min backuup PF type of player.

You mean a contract whose last year is not completely guarranteed.

Re: Millsap Market Value
I can see the Thunder throwing in an extra mil or two per year to make it really hard for the Jazz to match.
Millsap would be a perfect fit of OKC. He could start and let Jeff Green become a super 6th man.
Millsap really would balance out the roster on so many levels for the Thunder.
He would allow Krystic to play away from the rim.
Since Green could be the super 6th man with his scoring they could let Harden start and move Thabo to the bench.
I wouldn't be surprised to see the Thunder offer him some where around 8.5mil.
I hope Boozer opts in.

Ya I think the biggest player is going to OKC. I think the Jazz should match any offers and then sign and trade if they really don't want him around for that much money. Make teams pay to take away your players.

You can't trade a matched player for many months.

Re: Millsap Market Value
I think the timing of who sings where when will be important. Millsap may sign quickly so that the Jazz are under the gun, not knowing what will happen with Boozer. Ideally the Jazz would rather deal with Millsap after Boozer since Boozer can't be matched.

I read that Okahoma City is willing to offer 10 million per year for Milsap. What about a sign and trade of Milsap plus a future first round pick for Collison. Collison makes about 6 million.

I don't believe Jazz brass should be matching 10M per year... yet the hinking of Millsap playing for Division rivals OKC or POR it's not a pleasant one....

Re: Millsap Market Value
i seriously doubt the thunder offer millsap $10m unless it's a three year deal. they are not going to commit $55-$60m to paul millsap.
