I see the similarity- and more than any player coming out of college in years, since Deron Williams actually, Griffin is a player I would love to see join the Jazz. Obviously, 30 other teams would feel the same way, but the Clips aren't THAT dumb...
Griffin will be saddled with expectations early which Malone didn't really have to deal with. He will also be playing against stronger, higher caliber athletes. Malone's combination of size, speed and skill was unique when he started his career; Griffin is special, but there are a lot of talented, big athletes in the NBA now. I'll definitely keep an eye on his development and imagine he'll adjust to the NBA quickly- but I doubt he'll average 20+ in his second season, as did Malone.
