If Harp retires should the Jazz sign Bowen to a one year MLE deal? Not sure how it works financially or if we have the roster spot but he could give us a veteran presence on the wing and he's a defensive minded player who doesn't need plays ran for him on the offensive end of the floor.
I realize we have Brewer, AK, Miles, and Korver already but would you guys like to see Bowen in a Jazz uni. I think he could help down the stretch and in the playoffs.

Re: Bruce Bowen?
im all for bowen. He could really help what our team lacks. substitute one sloan guy in harpring for another sloan guy in bowen. Lets get that physical term back in utah that they use soo much to describe us. Although cleary he couldnt wear 12.

Meh, he's a one year rental guy. This isn't a team looking for that unfortunately.

Who cares if Harp retires? I'd gladly take Bowen over harp anyway.

Just because the Jazz never bothered to guard the guy doesn't mean he's all that great.

exactly, we aren't even contenders for the WCF, let alone a championship, why would he want to waste a year in Utah?

Re: Bruce Bowen?
WHy arent we contenders? we were last year the only players we have lost this offseason are Knight, Collins, and possibly harp. Why are we no longer good? Were finally healthy, brewer and sap have another year under their belts. What about us now makes us such a bad team what the boozer thing?

Re: Bruce Bowen?
We arent contenders because we couldnt defend the paint the last 3 years, and we (at least right now) havent done anything to change that. We were also one of the softest overall teams those same years, and havent done anything to change that. And thats leaving out the fact our best wing players (Brew and AK) cant shoot a lick, and we havent fixed that either.
And if you think the Bruce Bowen, at this stage of his career, is enough to change that then you havent been paying much attention to him.

That was a cold hard slap back into reality. I agree with you completely, but hadn't thought too much about our weaknesses lately. You're right though. Utah has two major weaknesses that prevent them from contending. Interior defense and toughness, and perimeter shooting. Until we fix those problems we are going nowhere past the 1st or 2nd round.

I dunno..sounds like he's totally done with the spurs..if Matt Harping really does retire and those knees of his are shot it might be worth it. Not sure how much he has left in the tank..but a good quality veteran for sure who is not injury prone like loozer. We need cap relief though and i'm not sure how KOC would get away with spending more money without sending some off the books.
