Harpring and Collins done with Utah

Post#1 » by HolyToledo » Tue Sep 22, 2009 11:14 pm

Russ Siler has twittered that Harpring will not play this season and Collins will go to training camp with the Blazers. I have never been a fan of these players because they were not talented whatsoever, but I must say each of them was very professional for the Jazz and tried their best when on the floor. They tried to earn their contracts as much as any players the Jazz ever had in their history. If the talented Jazz players played with Harpring's hustle and Collins' smarts, Jazz would be a better team. I wish them well!!!

Do you have a link, Toledo? Couldn't find this info anywhere.
I do agree with you on everything else though.

Harpring was talented, just injured too often.

I wish them well too. Jarron's a smart guy, a good proffessional, and a good glue dude. Harpring has much more talent than advertised, not to mention the guts; Jazz will miss him for sure.

Well notice the words "all indications." While it is likely that Harpring is done it hasnt been made official. Also the term is tweeted.

Harpring & collins are sloan type Players. Tough system role players. HArpring had alot of talent. Played to hard like a football player-got injured to Much!! are their any Sloan Type players left on Jazz? Willaims, Milsap, Price, Maybe Kofous! The talent potential players need to take over now for the jazz.

Thanks MAtt & Jarron.

Collins and Harpring were both players at one point that I really didn't like at all, but as the seasons went on, they started to grow on me. Its kind of sad to see them go now.

Both players seemed like solid citizens. I'm happy to have Kosta take Jarron's time, and maybe a lot more. CJ's going to have to step up, it's too bad you can't combine Matt's grit, toughness and ability aside, his interest in defending with CJ's natural offensive game and skill set.

Don't kid yourselves. Collins always sucked. I liked Harp in spots and streaks. Needless to say, I don't think them missing will make a big impact.

With those two gone, who is going to bait opposing players into technical fouls with a variety of cheapshots and reverse-arm-holding trickery?

In sports some players are going to be more talented than others. But it is important for players to play within their means. Both of these guys did that.
