I am looking forward to seeing Paul Harris, he is one of the guys I liked in the late 2nd round.

I think Jerrys bias for rookies and love for Price at the end of last season give him the job.

Maynor has three years under his belt of college ball so that may give him a bit of help. It really depends on how well Ronnie plays though. If he can bring energy like he did against the Lakers he should have the job.

If he shows once again that he can't set up the offense and over dribbles it could go to Maynor.

I don't think you ask Price to not be himself. He isn't going to run beautiful sets and set people all time. He isn't going to start the sets and try to get into the paint. He can then either score at the rim and kick the ball out. Price gets himself in trouble when he just tries to run the set and doesn't do it especially well-or the team doesn't run the set well and he has to jack a shot up. For 10-15 minutes a night we can play to Price's strengths or put the ball more in someone other the PG's hands.

I think Kirilenko will need to be on the floor with price as a point forward.

I agree with that. I don't think the Jazz can play the 1-2-2 scheme whith Price running the show, and Kirilenko would be good help for him playing power-forward or off-guard...

Spencer Nelson and Florida State big man Alexander Johnson added to training camp roster. *

* Source: Deseret News.

Is this Johnson the guy that played some games with Miami?

LOL didnt Johnson clown Boozer once? Ive liked what little of him Ive seen. If he comes into camp in shape he might have a chance of making the roster. However, he is under-sized so maybe Sutton would be a better pickup. I wouldnt be shocked if Utah carried 15 players to start the season. 2 contracts will be non-guaranteed. Would likely be a similar situation to the Roger Powell area.

Johnson is a legit NBA player, I think he has a shot if a Millsap or Boozer trade is imminent.

Johnson or Paul Harris are the guys I'm pulling for. I think Harris would be good since he hustles his guts out, just depends on if he has the skill level to make an NBA team.

Apparently Harris moderately sprained an ankle playing pickup ball the day before media day.

Its actual a pretty severe ankle sprain.

I cant believe there is no coverage of training camp.

Darn bad luck for Harris; I thought he had an actual chance...
I think Dupree and Johnson are the now the ones now with some chance to make the cut on unwarranted or partially warranted contracts enetring the season...

If you don't have decent coverage there in SLC, just imagine here a bunch of thousand miles south...

Kyle Korver (inflamed left knee), Andrei Kirilenko (strained left quad) and CJ Miles (strained left hip flexor) all sat out evening practice

Korver went for an MRI, with results still pending. Not the best news for a team coming off an injury-ravaged 2008-09 season.

Wow, I am really happy I didnt spring for the league pass this year. Same old Utah Jazz. I guess I might as well wait till next summer for some change.

Return to Utah Jazz
