Portland played almost 240 player minutes of legit NBA players; Jazz played half that time with camp invitees and or dead last roster men.
Maynor had a bad +/- stat because he played almost all his time with Matthews, Spencer, Dupree, Fesenko, Koufos and against real NBA lineups... don't get yourselves confused with this stat... you alway has to consider who's against who on the floor...
Maynor's legit; all signs are the Jazz drafted a very good point guard.

Yes, that is exactly what is going to happen/should happen IMO. Price just seems to make the team run smoother when he is out there with D-Will. Price runs the floor really well, gives you solid defense and gives you the exciting/hustle plays that the team needs.

Although Portland did get more offensive rebounds than they should have, a lot of them were from Oden missing several lay-ups in a row. I feel terrible for Portland. Oden is really bad.

Gotta get R Brewer in there, and where was the rebounding Booz? Booz should be 1rst or 2nd on the team everytime, or just get out of the way for ManSAP to get them.

A large % of the complaints about Boozer on this board have no basis in fact. A quick check of the box score, leaves one wondering what you're talking about. Carlos had less floor time than either Williams or Milsap and had the same 7 RB total that they had and 3 of his boards were Offensive. Given that he's healthy, over the course of the season Boozer will get his you can be sure.

Of far greater concern if you want to worry about something........The Jazz only had 44 pts in the paint last night and 28 of those came off the fast break. That translates to only 16 points in the paint that came as a result of our inside game.........which was non existant. If we enter the regular season jacking up that high a percentage of outside shots, I don't hold much hope for more than an average year.

Portland was playing a mixture of Oden and Pryzbilla at C. Against those lineups, you aren't going to have a lot of consistent success taking it to the hole. The best strategy there is to have your big guys draw them out of the paint by taking (and hopefully making) mid range Js, which should allow your guards to penetrate and score at the hoop. Also, its no coincedence with those fastbreak points. Against lumbering lineups, you have to push the tempo because a) the big guys have a hard time getting down the floor and b) if they are allowed to set up they can really shut down your attempts at the hoop.

Its nothing to be alarmed about. The Jazz are perenially among the best teams in the league at points in the paint, and it won't be anything different this year.

13.8/10.2 so far this preseason. I wish we had a 21 year old center who sucked that bad.

I really think you guys are over analyzing the stats on Boozer and Millsap. These guys are very good players, not camp invites, rookies, or sophmores, so naturally they aren't trying to impress the coach, and they wont hustle as hard as they do in the regular season because of the risk of getting injured in an exhibition game. While it's important for players to get back into game shape and all, the preseason is most valuable to new comers to learn how to run the plays, and for young players to exhibit their skills and fight for roster spots and playing time.

IMHO, no matter what preseason stats he gets, Boozer won't be a consistent 20/10 dude ever again. I said it before... his game was decrypted long time go and he just didn't evolve to compensate.
And I think he knows it, and there lies the reason for his urgency to get a contract offer this off-season... and the reason he got anxious and dumb about it.
Of course just a HO.

Like last year?

You'll see.

Home field. Better starting pitching. Better bullpen. Lidge blowing 11 saves during the season. Manny had no help last year, but everyone else is hitting well now. Sorry, don't mean to turn this into a baseball thread, but it's hard to keep up with everyone when you can't watch pre-season.

Yikes.
