bye bye KJZZ

Post#1 » by The Sheik » Wed Oct 21, 2009 4:15 am

Jazz signed an agreement with FSN for 12 years.

The Jazz leveraged there fans into getting them money from Direct TV and then thank them by screwing the non-cable fans.

Enjoy Locke

I'm actually perfectly fine with this. It could be much worse. At least this year I won't have to wonder what channels the games are on.

KJZZ had been almost non existent up til now. This is a great deal for the team, even if its not convenient for some Jazz fans. Its pretty simple, if you want to watch the Jazz, you already needed FSN. If you don't have it by now, you aren't a Jazz fan. There are options. The Jazz need to maximize their earning power in order to survive in a small market. I'm completely fine with this. Don't know why anyone wouldn't be.

Local sports on free TV have been dying a slow death for years. This shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. If this helps keep the Jazz viable in this market, then I'm all for it. At least all the games will be in HD, which is more than we can say for that crapfest of a college sports channel that Cougar and Ute fans have to suffer through each weekend.

I happen to have a set up that streams my home TV to the internet. I won't be watching all the games live (love TiVO), but if anybody is interested in seeing whats on my tv at any given time I can get you the link. Just send me an email at ferranskyler at the google mail service

aw man that sucks..I was hoping they would show at least a road game or two (I understand home games being on FSN and I understand why FSN/comcast would want total control over who is watching their paid for content) but still. I had to dump comcast and can't afford it right now. :(

*you got mail disco! I've been lurking justin dot tv for a while..they shut down those things at random times.

My Tv comes in through the HOA. We supposedly have Dish. We get some crazy channels and yet we don't get FSN at all. We used to get FSN Espanol for a few months. I am going to have to call them and complain.

It's a mixed bag. But, for those of US with FSN it's a blessing.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

This doesn't bother me. When it becomes it's own $200 package is when I get pissed.

Yeah heaven forbid some people can't afford cable TV like the retired community that live off a small percentage of money. F*** them for following the Jazz for years but now can't watch. This is one of the dumbest things I have ever heard.

The Denver looked pretty damn good in high def. I'm not complaining...
