Williams was 3.15 last season, not as good as some of the others, but not far off Nash's current pace. Williams though should have more turnovers than Nash, Kidd, and Rondo as he not only is a playmaker, but he scores a lot for a PG. What I care is that the Jazz have won 6 out of the last 7, if the Jazz could win 82 games with him getting 6 topg, then so be it.

His low assist total last night is absolutely fine. I mean, if you actually watched the game, you should know this. He's been playing spectacularly off the ball (he's virtually automatic from 15 - 18 off the curl), and has shown a willingness to throw nice outlet passes and let his teammates initiate and run fastbreaks when the situation calls for it (which led to a few easy buckets last night). Should he instead bring the ball up himself, and kill the fastbreak? Should he force less efficient shooters to play off the ball to increase his assist totals (while decreasing the team's offensive efficiency)?
This board is worse than Jazzfanz. If Deron holds the ball, he needs to get rid of it, and when he gets rid of it, he needs to hold on to it. He's been ridiculously good the last few games. There really is little room for complaint.
Good point, what matters is that his decision making is optimal, not that he's avoid every single needlethread pass, or potential turnover. There is a spanish saying, "El que no hace nada, no le pasa nada", which means "Nothing happens to those who do nothing". Got to take risks, and the only outcome that matters is Ws.

I'm not following your reasoning here. Unless those turnovers are offensive fouls I would expect a scoring guard to have fewer turnovers than a passing guard.

I have no problem with him getting 6 assists but I do question his decision making if he also has 5 turnovers.

That's my thinking as well.

Am I the only one who thinks that at least some of Deron's turnovers are because he is passing to where the player should be rather than where he is? I've seen several times in games where he's made a pass that seemingly would have lead to an easy bucket if the other player had cut or had pulled up......like he is seeing the game differently....slot of Stockton's t/o seemed to come from the same reason

That might be true. But there's always 1 or 2 TO from careless ball handling. Those just cannot happen.
