Is the Northwest Division...

Post#1 » by Pappyman » Tue Dec 8, 2009 5:20 am

the best division in the Western Conference? Currently, there are four teams that would make the playoffs from the Division if the season ended today. Portland is good. So is Denver. The Jazz seem to be hitting their stride and seem to have found a star rookie in Welsey Matthews. Oklahoma City is extremely talented (four top 5 picks on their team) and are starting to put it all together.

I doubt they make the playoffs.

Portland's in a slump. They'll recover and finish on par with the Jazz.

I'm not so sure they will recover this year. Travis Outlaw is likely done for the year. Oden is done for the year. Batum will miss most or all of the year. Rudy Fernandez is going to have (minor) back surgery -- how long will he be out?

The jury is still out on the Andre Miller signing with rumors the Blazers will attempt to trade him as soon as they can (Dec. 15); meanwhile Jerryd Bayless is reportedly asking for a trade.

At this point I'd give OKC even odds to finish with a better record than the Blazers.

Wow never seen so many young guys hurt, gotta feel for the Blazers as we've been on that ship for years now with our stars.
