I don''t think people from out of state know who he is but this is a sad loss for the state. I met Kim Peek once and he was able to describe a German friend of ours home town down to the street names. I also saw him at the library doing his rainman thing, reading and repeating things over and over again quite loudly.
For people who don't know who he is here's his Wiki:

He passed? I'm pretty sure he came for an assembly at my elementary school a long time ago.

Re: OT: RIP Kim Peek
I remember my teacher telling me about when he met him, he told him his phone number and street address just from his name, having never met him before. He memorized the phone book. Pretty incredible stuff, makes you wonder what is wrong with our brains sometimes. RIP.

Word is, South Beach is ecstatic that they
won't be seeing Millsaps talents again this season...

Re: OT: RIP Kim Peek
Condolences to Kim's family. He came to my elementary school as well, I was chosen from my class to ask him a question, very cool moment for me.
