How to make the Jazz a steady top team

Post#1 » by jozef » Sat Dec 26, 2009 1:43 pm

If you watched Jazz at Atlanta game or yesterday's Cavs at Lakers game you see there are either big bodies or special athlete (Josh Smith) protecting the basket.
Centers like Memo can defend in backup matchups.
Similarly shooters like Brewer can play only off the bench.

So we need Fesenko starting and playing as much as his conditioning allows, I estimate it for 18 or 20 minutes. Millsap coming off the bench as the first big man.
Wing rotation should be mainly based on Matthews, Kirilenko and Miles.

Minutes:
PG Williams 36, Price 12
SG/SF Kirilenko 30, Miles 28, Matthews 28, Brewer 10
PF/C Boozer 36, Millsap 30, Fesenko 20, Okur 10

Of course, Jerry and Kevin and Greg and most of Jazz fans disagree with my opinion but in my rotation we get more steady inside defense and offense and floor spreading making the Jazz reliable team on road and at home.
I should be on Lacob payroll...

I believe alot of people agree with the assesment you have made. Itis tome to move Okur on and usr bigger guys in the middle.

I'd probably prefer Matthews 15 and Brewer 23 at the wing, and Millsap 28, Okur 16, Fesenko 16 right now. But in general I do agree with that view. After all some tweaking have to be done.

Fes is a floor constrictor.

Maybe you should move on and try to cure cancer or something.

Fes is not the answer.
I do agree to a certain extent. but ol fester just isn't it.

I think the bigger problem is the mentality of the team as a whole.
They just don't have a killer instinct. Great teams play defense with great intensity.
This team wants to score points.
With the talent they have now combined with a killer instinct, and a far greater effort/intensity on the defensive end of the floor this could be a special team.
that is what is most frustrating for me.

With all that said, I don't want to see them swapping pieces unless they know that the piece they are bringing in is going to bring that killer instinct along with them and spread it to the rest of the team.
At this point I could care less which piece is traded other than Deron.
Just make sure that the incoming player/s is going to bring leadership and defense.

Without making any deals. I think the following line up...simply the Jazz need a shot blocker near the basket to help the poor defenders. Basically, matchup would determine whom boozer and Ak-47 guard. Memo needs to go to the bench and be a 6th man shooter.

PG Williams 32 Price 16
SG Miles 30 Matthews 18
C Boozer 30 Memo 10 Fess 8
PF Ak-47 24 Millsap 14 Memo 10
SF Brewer 26 Millsap 14 Ak-47 8
Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!

The killer instinct comes with wings hitting 3pters and centers dunking the ball and challenge shots.

The Jazz need to find other young athletic center to challenge Fesenko for a job cause Kyrylo is a bit lazy I think. Antony Joel, DeAndre Jordan, simply someone who has not make a name already. I do not see Koufos as good project.
BTW, CJ, Wes and AK made 3 3pters in one game at least twice this season.
I should be on Lacob payroll...
