I actually like the blog at least he admits there is problems and they are trying. Another thing the Jazz are one stable ship..they don't trade or react to knee jerk reactions (unless a player gets in a fight with sloan then he's OUTTA HERE) and to give them credit that helps...if you react with a trade with every bad stretch of playing - we would be a total joke of a franchise right now constantly firing coaches and players..possibly not even be in SLC with loss of any more fans.

but, I dunno.. I'm guessing they're gonna let this team burn out and walk and not trade which is unfortunate...but I understand it. I hope this damage control blog of the owner is the first step to actually fixing the problem instead of wearing a boozer jersey on channel 5 and saying how much he loves boozer. What has Boozer done for greg lately? *end rant*

I'm not sure if you're saying you agree with this appraoch but it personally has me saying WTF!?!?! How is it good if the team only makes quick trades/moves if the coach has an issue with a player??? I'm so tired of people hating on the players' effort when it is clear some are being poorly utilized....CJ is a shooter who is scared to shoot....AK is a player who's game is driven by creativity who is scared to be creative....Fes can't get minutes for whatever reasons...The reason Slaon was able to get so much outta crap players a few years back was because they were crap players...he has good players now who I imagine realize they are not being properly utilized but who with the exception of Deron are scared to say anything about it.....

How is blowing up a team that has underachieved for THREE seasons as a "knee-jerk reaction?" I'm not criticizing you, but rather Greg Miller and Jerry Sloan, who have tried to downplay the team's recent struggles as just a bump in the road.

To me (and I think many others) this recent stretch of lackluster play is the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back.

It's knee jerk if you can't get back better value. They have some cap issues this year, but once the off season hits that clears up. They can't jeopardize future years cap for stupid moves midseason.

I agree. But I think the Jazz have a lot of opportunities right now to improve their future. For example: there are a lot of teams much more desperate than the Jazz to shed current and future payroll; contracts expiring this year have much more value than contracts expiring next year; and the Jazz also have a couple of TPEs.

As I said earlier, I think this is a make-or-break season for KOC. He got dealt a somewhat **** hand in the off-season, with everyone opting in and Jerry begging for one more run with this group... but if he truly has the latitude now to reshape this team then he needs to prove his worth.

And we will never know what those opportunities are. Other teams want deals that help them get better too.

Oh hey no offense taken I'm sick of it just like you guys are, it's hard to watch us lose to the worst teams in the league.. and I know when Arroyo or Girichek talked back to Sloan they were out in no more than..oo...if I remember right Carlos was benched and about 6 days later KOC sent him and his giant contract packing. Giricheck was much faster but they shipped those guys out VERY fast..so I know it's possible to trade quickly they just don't want to rock the boat with what they built and rush to judgement. I guess the only thing i'm happy with Greg Miller's blog is that he admitted there are problems and he wants to win..

But I agree they've had 3 years of "we went to the western conference finals so we'll just mature and get better" when we've only gotten worse, I like to think the CJ re-signing was the first step backwards when Oklahoma wanted him so bad...so I'd like to see a trade but at the same time they're not rushing into anything.... They just spent 2 weeks deciding who to get as a 3rd point guard on a 10 day contract. So knowing how slow they went with getting a 3rd guard..they will snail through any idea of big changes. I bet any trade happens it'll go down to the very last second on the last trading day in Feb. looking at all options and what we can get the best offer much like bidding and sadly we're going to go ape over it for the next month with frustration.

But yeah this is KOC time for sure.

True: we may never know what those opportunities are. That's what makes it frustrating.

Not necessarily true: Other teams want deals that help them get better. Sometimes teams make deals to save money, even if they don't get better (Eric Maynor trade?). Sometimes teams make deals that make them a little bit better today but have the potential to make the other team A LOT better in the future.

I could see a deal happening any time between now and the trade deadline. As for the timing, sometimes a deal is too good to pass up and you don't want to miss the opportunity; sometimes you want to listen to all offers. An example of the former: If the T-Mac for AK and Okur trade was on the table I think you'd have to take it, because you may not get another chance to clear both of those contracts off the books. Boozer, on the other hand, is an example of the latter: the Jazz waited all summer to get a good offer for him; they're still waiting, and I don't really fault them.
