Should the Jazz attempt to trade...

Post#1 » by Pappyman » Thu Jan 21, 2010 5:38 am

Memo, one of the five wings, and their NY #1 pick for a defensive-minded center? I think that a move of this caliber would push them over the top as a championship contender.

If we could get Butler and Haywood on the team I'd be a happy man.

Bogut is another center I'd be interested in.

I've been hoping for this trade all year! It'd be great if we could move Memo for them somehow, but I'd move Booz for them if not.

I, personally, wouldn't trade Carlos Boozer unless we get another All-star caliber player back. He is playing too well right now to merit trading him unless we get something really good in return. Memo is the one who should be moved. We should also look into giving teams our NY #1 pick. It might not even be a lottery pick if New York somehow sneaks into the playoffs in the top-heavy Eastern Conference. I think the Knicks are like in 9th or 10th place right now. It would sweeten the deal for any of the teams we could potentially deal with.

With Jamison, I don't think they'd need Boozer. I think our best chance would be in a three way trade.

Memo, Korver, Kosta, and Miles to Suns for Amare, Collins, and amundson...Collins and Amundson previosuly played for Jazz...Suns get a player for Amare whom is leaving at seasons end while the Jazz go for it all ine one season with a lineup of (week outside shooting team but stronger defensively)

PG Williams Price Gaines
SG Brewer matthews Price
C Amare Fess Collins
PF Boozer Millsap Amundson
SF Ak-47 Brewer Millsap

I think Suns only do it if the Jazz add the NYK pick which would make it tough for the Jazz to do unless they want to go for it all in one season. At least if doesnt work out the Jazz would have cap room to sign Boozer back or some other free agent in the off season.
Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!

Haywood/Bogut haven't been helping his teams go to any winning place... why should they help the Jazz take the next step?

The Wizards are a **** mess. The biggest mess this league has seen in awhile. That atmosphere isn't conducive to winning. Outside of this season Haywood was a good player in the playoffs for the Wizards. He wasn't afraid to foul hard and defended the paint very well. Two attributes severely lacking on the Jazz. We have the offensive players to put around Haywood, all he has to do is defend and rebound.

Who's the best player Bogut has played with? Redd? Jennings? Put more offensive players around him and you'll see his efficiency go way up. He's also shown glimpses of a very good defensive player and is one of the best passing centers in the league.

They both appear to be savvy enough to learn Sloan's system and neither has a record for being detrimental to their teams.

I would much rather have Bogut than Haywood at this point, but I think Haywood would be a lot easier to get due to the situation Wizards seem to be in.

I'd be interested in Howard! No really, I would be.

Haywood is attainable. I doubt Bogut is. I'm struggling to see why Milwaukee would trade him unless they're REALLY trying to dump future salary -- but their books are relatively trim even with the last year of Redd's deal next year.

A hard foul or two a game from a big man would do wonders for this team.

Exactly, we'd be trading one soft center (Okur) for another one (bogut).

Haywood and Bogut both get mentions. They're also the most attainable.
