Dont forget you had a 12 game winning streak last year and we all remember how that ended. Utah is my favorite team in the west, so lets hope this time this streak is legit. Gotta win more games on the road though...

Injuries really **** up our chemistry last year. If we can stay healthy. I really like our chances.

He has to stop picking up that offensive foul late in games though.

It's funny.. I caught a bit of Tim Legler on the radio yesterday and the host asked him about Utah... and Tim Legler said something like this:

"Utah has a stretch every year where they look really, really good and make you think they're a contender, but they always let you down."

Maybe I'll try to find the entire transcript if it exists somewhere -- I thought it was painfully apt.

Yeah I'm glad that we finally have a challenge. We know that when our team is playing at a high level that they are unbeatable, but I want to see if we can still play at a high level on the road. We won 3 out of our last 4 on the road. I think our young guys have really grown, and that they will perform well on the road as well. I don't think their attitude from the last 8 will carry over.

Tue, Feb 9 @ LA Clipper
Wed, Feb 10 LA Lakers
Tue, Feb 16 @ Houston
Wed, Feb 17 @ New Orleans
Fri, Feb 19 @ Golden State
Sun, Feb 21 @ Portland

Honestly, that's a pretty easy schedule, I'm not very concerned with the road games, except Houston. The Lakers could be a tough challenge, but in the paste the Jazz have done a good job when they put Kirilenko on Kobe, it'll be interesting to see how we do. While we will be playing back to backs when we play LA, it'll be at home, and we've just been unbeatable. Okur and Millsap will probably give their front court a tough time getting easy baskets. The Lakers have also been pretty disappointing of late. If you look at Utah's defensive numbers over the last 10, it's pretty convincing that we should be able to stop them at home:

Last 10 games:
6.4bpg, 2nd in the league (CHI is first)
8.7spg, best in the league
+4.8 rpg advantage, 2nd in the league, percentage-wise, it tops the league
111.4ppg, 2nd in the league (PHX is first)
+11.2ppg adavantage, 2nd in the league (CLE is first)
.536 FG shooting, best in the league (by a .035 margin!)
.433 opponent FG shooting, 4th in the league (behind ORL, CHI, and CLE)
.364 3PT shooting, 11th in the league, not bad for a team not thought of as a 3pt team
27.7apg, best in the league by a 3apg margin!
+8.9 apg advantage, best in the league, 2nd is DAL with +5.2
15 opponent turnovers, 5th in the NBA

Basically you can make an argument that we are not only #1 in offense right now, but #1 in defense right now as well.

Yeah, his comments a few weeks back shouldn't have been as criticized by Jazz fans like they were. Probably a week before he made those comments, they asked him about us on ESPN, when we were hovering around the 8th seed, and he said that we should make the playoffs but we are too inconsistent so you never know. Hey, at least he knows his stuff.

And if Portland has Roy back by the time we play them again I'd expect them to beat us.

As much as that statement rings true regarding last year, I'm not really sure the Jazz let anybody down the previous two years. First, they came out of nowhere to win 51 games and make the WCF. Yes, they were inconsistent, but they played extremely well in the first two rounds of the playoffs and that they lost to the Spurs was hardly a surprise or let down. The next year, they started off poorly, but went something like 38-12 over the season's last 50 games (a pretty long stretch). We fell short against the Lakers, but that was a very good team and we were basically a defensive rebound (or a whistle against Pau) away from heading back to SLC for game 6 up 3-2. Definitely a disappointing outcome, but nothing like last season. It's unclear how the rest of this season will play out, but I'm far from certain that the Jazz will let us down; in my mind, that really only happened once and our chemistry and health are much better now.

Wow, so bitter you decided to sign up for a website to show sour grapes over a single regular season game.

Not the first Nugget idiot I've seen trying to rub it in here. This is the first time in the Carmelo era and God knows when that the Nuggets won the season series from us. Enjoy it while you can, Nuggies.

BTW, you are only two games up.

Nuggets fans still pretty shady on their math. I think the acronym SMD is appropriate in this situation.

Hey man, the Nuggets deserve it, they FINALLY had a season where they finished on top of us, last year, though it took like 200 missed games between our players, but still.. We're currently on pace to take the division, so let him ride his high horse cause it's not going to last.
