Dalembert would definitely not thrive under Sloan, neither would RJ. I don't think our system would help Jefferson at all actually. Koufos still has plenty of potential and is a hard worker, no need to trade him for nothing. I like Brewer so I'd rather keep him and see what kind of offers he gets in the offseason. These trades are kind of being made for the sake of making trades.

The Jazz need to do 4 trades in next few days:
A) Okur and Korver for Samuel Dalembert and Rodney Carney (-2.0 M)
B) Kirilenko for Richard Jefferson and Marcus Haislip (-1.8 M)
C) Brewer and Koufos for Memphis (Lakers) pick (-4.0 M)
D) Fesenko for DeAndre Jordan
If Sixers waive Korver then the Jazz could sign him for minimum if it does not take them into luxury tax area.

Please explain why, why, why and finally why on trades A-D.

A) Shotblocking, rebounding, quickness
B) Outside shooting, complete skills at SF (with Dalembert there will be less room for AK inside so it would demand a traditional SF)
C) RJ, CJ, Wes (and maybe KK) can handle SG/SF minutes (even Sap can get few minutes at SF or Price at SG)
D) Jordan is quicker center, great athlete who could develop in starter
All A, B, C trades shave money from payroll, keeping the Jazz under luxury tax.

Ok, that is why you want those players--but WHY would the other teams want our Jazz castoffs under your scenarios?

Some of these other comments are just plain ignorant of the latest public position on potential trades. For example--Boozer for Bosh--haven't you seen the articles that say Toronto is not trading Bosh?
Miles for Blatche? If you were Washington, would you make that trade? No, I wouldn't either.

A) Brand and Okur would work better than Brand and Dalembert. Brand (who is untradable) can provide some shotblocking (Okur's weakness) but he miss Boozer's polished game so Okur would help him a lot to create a space inside. Both teams would improve chemistry in their frontcourt, Sixers on the offensive end and Jazz on the defensive end while not suffering at the other end.

B) Jefferson does not fit into Pop's speading scheme.

C) Memphis was interested to strength up their bench.

D) Lakers were interested in Fesenko so maybe he generates some interest from Clips. This trade is not that important.

I've checked salary numbers at shamsports.com and the Jazz appear to be about 4.7M over the luxury tax treshold; if numbers are correct and I understand how all the thing works, the Jazz can gain about 13.4M if they get under the cap before tade deadline (4.7 in salaries, 4.7 in luxury tax penalties and about 4 in luxury tax redistribution). That's a huge number for a small market team.
Do you think this team can go deep enough to make it worth the 13+M cost?

Personally no because I think the championship should be the end result and given that we cannot birng back this team after this season it makes no sense to pay the tax for it. If we weren't 3rd in the west right now we would have moved Boozer. Now I think the likely only move could be dumping Korver, Brewer or CJ to save 7+ mil.
