No compelling reason to spend more than a rookie minimum for 10 days in 8 days, and then let them go and wait 10 more days.

Isn't Sean Williams available? He's long, young, and has blocked a ridiculous amount of shots in limited minutes. I'd like to take a gamble on him. Maybe Croshere or Moore. NOT Brian Cook.

If gambling wouldn't it make more sense to gamble on a cheaper player who is doing well in the D-League than a more expensive recycled player who had the chance to stick and didn't?

Yeah, it is... but Williams has shown enough that I think it is less of an unknown and he's young enough that it wouldn't be an exorbitant amount of additional money. Your point is well taken though.
