BIg Z?

Post#1 » by QuantumMacgyver » Fri Feb 26, 2010 6:18 pm

The way this team has been playing they can beat anyone, anyone except the Lakers. They are still just too difficult for us to match up with. If we could land Big Z then I think we would have a real legitimate chance at winning it all this year.

What factors go into signing a player after waivers? Length, Money, etc. I was told that he can only be signed for the MLE for the remainder of the season.

I think it's almost certain Big Z goes back to Cavs

would be nice though if we did get him...but yeah I think he's either a maverick (bad) or cav...

Would be crazy if it did happen though...

I doubt the Jazz have any interest. I'll bet Haywood and Camby were folks that they targeted, but, failed to get. Both guys who play D. Z is not much for defense anymore. Fes might give you more there. Right now we've got Okur who plays similar to Z allready.

I think they'd be more looking for an energy guy. Maybe a 6'10" guy who plays like a pogo stick. Can disrupt an offense a bit with tips and deflections. Maybe get you a few extra possessions with hustle.

That's my guess anyway. Energy. I think that's what they'd like coming off the bench. Kinda like a poor man's Chris Anderson. (if he wasn't a poor man's version he'd be in the league allready)
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

Randy Rigby mentioned they would be interested on 1320 yesterday, and Z's agent has said that the Jazz have contacted him.

Word is, South Beach is ecstatic that they
won't be seeing Millsaps talents again this season...

Most of the teams have done their due diligence and contacted Z's agent. With that said there's little chance he doesn't run back to Cleveland.

Jazz have their MLE free; I don't think many teams have that... but most probably Ilgauskas won't make an issue about money...

A good tall pogo stick like forward/center would be a healthy Mikki Moore

He's really not the type of player the jazz need. Maybe Z from 5yrs ago.
