Deron Williams

Post#1 » by TS2MC13 » Wed Apr 7, 2010 4:48 am

Jazz fans this is a serious question and please be honest.

Does Deron Williams carry the ball in your opinion? I think he does it almost non-stop.

Agreed. As a Blazer fan, I'll admit that Roy carries the ball a lot, but if they called it on guys like Roy and Deron, they'd have to call it on (nearly) everybody.

"almost non-stop" is a pretty gross exaggeration from a frustrated fan. I'm sure he carries and gets away with it, but if we're going to get into a "star treatment" debate...nevermind. Just worry about your own players.

You know... he carries the rock a little less than the common NBA guard. Dude's got blessed with a set of moves in which his body and legs are far more involved than his hands. Not very often Williams use his hand on the basketball below an imaginary horizontal plane parallel to the floor or "transport" it more than normal. In fact that's amazing considering to what extent most gurads are allowed to do it.
Just MHO.

Everybody does it (that doesn't make it right).

What is your point of coming in here and bringing this up? Sour grapes? Spilt milk? You know you are trolling.

Your team lost.

Does Durant always initiate contact and than try shoot through players to get calls?

I think Dwill carries the ball a lot, like most NBA guards.

Yes, a little bit. I would agree.

Now let's talk about relevance.

GTFO of our board. Durant is quickly becoming one of the most overprotected players in the game by the refs. Even if the last play was a foul, WHICH IT WASN'T, it would have just been a makeup call for the last time down when they gave him two freebies for NOTHING. That game disgusted me. The Thunder are a jump shooting team who got 40+ FTs. How? Off the ball and on ticky tack BS 20 feet from the hoop.

So STFU and GTFO.

You show us a video clip of a SKILLS competition for proof? Come on now. Lets see game time when a player has to worry about being called.

I am sure at times he gets away with it. I dont think he is the worst violater in the NBA.

But Durant gets the Jordan treatment.

I used to think Jordan got away with traveling. Man, did you guys ever see the dunk contest, where he took like 10 steps before jumping? Such a blatent travel.....

Dude you tried passing off that skills challenge crap in the General Board. Stop whining.

I think he does when he brings the ball down the court with his lazy dribble, which is a bad habit. Should it be called? No way, because he straightens it out when he is being guarded. But he does SOMETIMES do it on a drive, and has been called for it before. Since he has been called on it before, there is no reason for the refs to turn a blind eye to it, which is why I think he doesn't do it much anymore.

But, his crossover is sick, isn't it? I bet it makes people like you wish he would be called for a carry. I can understand your frustration. Kinda like how I want to puke when your team gets more home cooking than we got on our own home court, despite the last play.

Almost non-stop is a bit drama-queen-esque of you, don't you think...
