It's fair to call out Boozer alone, not to compare him to someone else. Malone had conditioning, but he also may have had a higher bone density or something like that. I dunno. Some players are less talented, some are more fragile, some are lazier, all of those things go into being an inferior player, but only one is a character flaw.

well, if we are going to have this conversation you need to include Stockton.
Stock wasn't very big, obviously didn't have big bones or some such.....

What they both had were work ethic, conditioning, and heart.
Just as a side note they didn't go injury free all those years, they played through.
Yes, I expect that from our current players.
They Make a boatload of money, have celebrity status, and all its perks.
Yes, I expect perfection.
Don't like it, think it's unfair, Bummer. Go play for the Nets.

They never played through the season ending stuff Boozer gets, they played the the nagging stuff that Boozer is playing with tonight.

Not true. After Malone injured his knee in LA his X-Rays showed bone scarring in his hand. He later admitted that he broke it before the playoffs years earlier.

A broken hand is definitely a season ending injury. Plus I'm sure many of us remember Stockton rolling his ankle something fierce the last time we played the kings in the playoffs, and he came back one quarter later. Or Milsap hyperextending his knee last year and coming back the next quarter. Boozer would have missed the significant time with such an injury.

Stockton would not sit out with a strained rib, Malone would not sit out with a strained rib, Millsap would not sit out with a strained rib. I'm even willing to bet Mathews would not sit out with a strained rib.

Boozer just lacks the ability to play through the pain. I'm not calling him out for it, just saying he lacks the pain threshold that 'Iron Man" players possess.

Did'nt Stockton also have that knee surgury that keeps most players out over a year (some longer, Penny Hardaway) and return after 3 months? Dude was a freak.

This is the biggest game of the year, if Boozer can't get up for this..we really need to let him walk away at the end of the season.

You cant question boozers work ethic, Look at his body fat this year. He has worked on his game. So he is brittle, some people are.

Why arent we badgering AK? Mabey because he is white?

No, most of us have just have almost 0 expectations for AK at this point. I feel like anything positive he can bring us is just gravy.

With Boozer, I expect him to play and to perform well, that is why we get upset.

Has 0 to do with race.

You are an idiot for even inciting such an accusation. It has absolutely NOTHING to do with AK being white. It has EVERYTHING to do with AK being Russian. No one wants to mess with the Ruskies... haven't you played Call Of Duty?!

Boozer sitting out for this game was a travesty. A chance for a division title and the #3 spot on the line and this fool is in street clothes. I think that says an awful lot about his character. Memo played, D-Will played and AK has been out for many games now, we know he's hurt. Booz when the Jazz needed him, totally milked an injury. Of course Millsap was going to look bad against Amare. Amare is just on the cusp of being first team All-NBA this year.

Really disappointed in Booz.

Boozer is great at scoring, a tough rebounder, and is a huge addition to this team...... when he plays. Problem is he is not a team player first, this game is a great example. He is a "me first, you second" type player, and no matter how good he is it will not change this fact. He probably did feel something in his side and did not want to potentially worsen this injury. He missed this game out of caution (in my opinion). With being such an integral part of the team, if he could play he needed to play in this game. Even if it was a reduced roll, we needed him in there. He decided to play it safe for his own reasons then to put it all on the line for the team. This is a repetitive concept with him and will not change. Front office needs to decide if they can live with that, or go after another big this offseason. Question would be: Would Amare have played with the same injury, Bosh? Could we potentially land anyone this offseason with our trade exceptions and possible sign and trades?

Evidently, you all have direct access to the doctor that evaluated Boozer, said he was perfectly fine and gave him the go ahead to get out there and play ball. I mistakenly assumed that he was unable to function well enough to play.
