The guy is making 5 million a year in LA, thats chump change? Thats the very maxim he would have gotten anywhere buddy. I'm not 100% on the exact numbers but didnt he walk away from 7.5 here and go sign a 20 million 4 year deal or something alone those lines? He for sure isnt getting a bad deal any way you look at it.

I don't think Fish is evil, I personally like fish. I don't like him when hes playing us, but I don't hate him. I understand why he wanted to go take care of his daughter but I do think he lied about it to a certain extent for sure. So what tho. I don't cheer for him because of it, but I don't boo him or hate him either.

These articles were atrocious. I personally didnt hear anything half bad where I was sitting, and I sit close to the court every game. I do think that the "LA sucks" chants and all the "sucks" chants are stupid but thats the very worst that comes out of the majority of the stadium. There for sure are some Jazz fan idiots that do cross the line thats for sure. But to paint the majority of us like that is just idiotic.

Why can't Jazz fans cheer for Derek Fisher still?

Yeah, why can't Jazz fans cheer for a guy who plays for a team that consistently knocks them out of the playoffs.

Fisher was awful for us, and I boo him because he was sooooooo crappy playing for the Jazz it was unbelievable.

The hypocracy huh? Don't let a minority of fans reflect the whole, as I dont in this instance...

SALT LAKE CITY – Derek Fisher found a picture from a playoff game against the Utah Jazz on the Internet earlier this year. Fisher isn’t certain during which Los Angeles Lakers game the photo was taken, but he knows what it shows: As the former Jazz guard attempts to shoot a free throw in Salt Lake City, a fan behind the basket covers his left eye to taunt him.
Fisher also knew what the photo meant. The fan was mocking his young daughter, Tatum, who had cancer in her left eye. Fisher left the Jazz in the summer of 2007 to return to the Lakers so his daughter could receive what he considered was the best medical care available.

Does this anger me sure, it's lower than low, completely uncalled for, but would I let it influence my view of Jazz fan as a whole, not a chance.

That picture was well known to be a photoshopped pic.

In all fairness that photo is pretty scetchy. Rumors of photoshop work and the actual motive of the fan have been called into question.

If Fisher had gone to the Clippers or the Knicks he'd get big cheers every time he came to Salt Lake. I'm not sure what that says about the Jazz's fan base, but I think it's much easier to cheer a guy who left because your team didn't want him any more; or who leaves to a team that's not a threat. But when a guy leaves under questionable circumstances (in the eyes of some) AND goes to a team that is generally hated by your fanbase, I can see why he would get booed.

Did Jarron Collins still get cheers at ESA this year? I would think he'd get some applause.

It's not that simple or we'd let it slide, obviously. We understand massive booing of Kobe Bryant. But Fisher? The allegations laid against him by the Jazz fanbase are shaky at best. He should be getting booed as much as Gasol or Bynum or Odom. But he's not. That much we can see.

Do people think we are booing him because his child has cancer? Anyone who thinks that there is a large fan base in any city that would stoop that low doesn't know what they are talking about. There may be 10-20 people in the arena who start making inappropriate comments, but when you're playing against a team you used to play for that is more likely to happen. We don't hate him because he left, we hate him because he left to play for the Lakers. That is why he gets more boos than Odom and Gasol.

That should pretty much sum up how we all feel about the situation. Well said
