Greg Miller just said on his interview with Tom Kirkland on Channel 5 that the new uniforms will be released to the public on June 16th.

I'm surprised they aren't debuting them on draft night. We've got a good player coming in, lot of fans will be watching, seems logical to debut them together.

Utah keepin the nostalgia thick after the latest playoff flame out. Sloan in his 20th season, the second coming of the 1-4 centered core, and now the old colors and unis. Your franchise has the fewest distinct eras of any other.

Really? How so? I would love to see you try and prove your point.

I think we're in the fifth era.

I: Pre-John/Karl
II: Early John/Karl
III: Prime/Late John/Karl
IV: Reconstruction
V: DWill + ????

Unfortunately the uniforms don't always match up nicely with those eras.

Do eras really matter?

Does watching grown men play games really matter?

Yes. Yes it does.

We reference them all the time without really realizing it. Jazz fans talk about the John/Karl days constantly, and usually I think they refer to Era III.

What our Laker pal was saying is that the Jazz have essentially had one coach and one offensive scheme for 20+ years and a common thread throughout is a top-notch PG, a dominant PF and disappointing playoff exits. Therefore, he asks, how do we distinguish one era from another?

Came across this concept. I wish they would have gone with this instead.

mmmm...nah.

Interesting concept design but I prefer the broadway font and style over the country/cowboy font...

but that's just me.

I don't like the copper at all. Or the font. I like the Alt logo.

I really like the perspective on the ball in this concept. They should have at least made that change. I like the copper, but not the green in (maybe replace it with the powder blue?). However, I like the green, but not the yellow in the new logo.

These colors just don't seem very complimentary to me.

I really wish the logo said UTAH on it. Just Jazz seems too New Orleans Jazz to me. I'd much rather purple road uniforms than green, but I know green will be a bigger seller. I miss the purple...

This was the logo for the Utah days until '96 I believe. The "UTAH" text was added after the move to Utah (obviously) but I'm not sure what year.

I think it still sometimes showed up without the "UTAH" text.

Maybe they'll do the same thing with the new version.

I think with the green old school jerseys being received so well they decided to just add color to that logo and poof.
