Yeah they also make a ton of money from frontrunners who would pay to suck Kobe's dick. I guess a lot of them have nothing else going for them so they need to like a team that's always winning to feel better about themselves.

I read a post in the Lakers forum a few days ago from a dude who said he was a Bulls fan in the 90's and now he's a Lakers fan. lmao

I am about done with the NBA, If during the next CBA they dont get a hard cap in place, why watch. I have rooted for the jazz for about 20 years, and I have learned that their will always be a team with more talent, due to more spending. Their will always be a bigger market star/team that will get all the calls.

The Lakers resigned Kobe and Gasol with pay raises, while we traded players to get under the cap. They picked up Artest for the full midlevel. You cant win competing against teams like this. The Jazz deserve alot of credit because they continue to win. But I want them to win their last game of the season just once.

Last year was the first year in about a decade that I did not purchase League Pass. (I didnt see a reason since the jazz did nothing to get better)

Now next year if we loose Boozer and Korver and replace them with a draft pick and some other teams castoff back up, I probably wont pay for the league pass again.

Level the playing field NBA. We demand a salary CAP now. No team is allowed to go over it. If you make a bad money move (kirilenko) I think you should have to stick with it, not cut him like the NFL does.

2008-09 NBA TEAM SALARIES
By InsideHoops.com, updated Nov. 28, 2008

Dallas Mavericks: $97,496,177
Cleveland Cavaliers: $90,843,932
Boston Celtics: $90,096,624
Detroit Pistons: $87,461,049
Chicago Bulls: $79,519,753
Atlanta Hawks: $79,063,186
Denver Nuggets: $76,747,526
Charlotte Bobcats: $68,391,628

The key is making good personel moves that build value, and then paying to keep your own players you built through this process. All of the Champs have done this. No one has won a championship with a top 2 player gotten through Free agency since Shaquille Oneal and the Lakers. This may change with this free agency year, but the wannabe Yankees in the NBA are not successful.

I really don't think the Jazz would want a hard cap. The Jazz have benefited as much as anyone from a soft cap.

What I'd like to see is the elimination of the Luxury Tax. I think it hurts teams like the Jazz much more than it hurts teams like the Lakers. It's a minor annoyance to the rich teams, it's a revenue stream for owners that don't give a **** about competing, and it can be crippling for so-called middle-class teams like the Jazz.

I see your logic, and I don't know if I agree or disagree. The opposite side of the fence says the Lakers were 20+ million over the luxury tax this year, meaning they paid a total of 110 million dollars in player salaries this year with the additional 20 million in penalties.

If you were to destroy the luxury tax, that extra 20 million they paid ends up going toward another max free agent while the Jazz struggle to spend the extra 20 million on top of the 70 million dollar pay roll they already have.

I read somewhere that Oconner wished their was a hard cap so they could compete with the Lakers.

As long as there is a CAP with exceptions some teams will be able to spend more money on salaries. The only way of truly leveling the playing field is to institute a hard CAP that cannot be exceeded. At that time everybody is allowed to spend the same amount of money, and good money management becomes a factor in success.

Expect a lot more player movement in that scenario. Some to your team, and some away from your team.

I agree. The off seasons could be more like the NFL with teams trying different pieces and needing to trade in order to do it. A hard CAP would hurt the flexibility of players to move where they want, which is why the PA is against it.

That's not the only reason the PA is against it...
