Blazers preparing to offer Matthews a contract.

My thinking is that the Blazers hear that Matthews will let the Jazz have first dibs, so they dangle a contract they have no intention of offering Matthews in front of him and say, take that back to the Jazz hoping the Jazz will offer a non-front-loaded version for the same money.

I say call the bluff and see if the Blazers actually make that offer. If they do then let them have it.

True, but because of his play they got rid of Brewer not Matthews.

I hope we don't match. I like others on here feel that Matthews has reached his potential allready.

Love the kid. Was my favorite player last year. But, let him go. We'll find someone else just as good for 1/3rd the money.

I think that his ceiling is as a 14 3 and 2 guy with good defense. That is nice and all, but not worth $9,000,000 in one year even if the contract is declining. Let Portland have their cake and eat it too.
