Jazz/Knicks
What you guys think???
If anything is true about chandler being available and the Knicks wanting to have some big expiring contract for a run at Melo and CP3 how about
Chandler, Turiaf, and Curry
for
AK47?
Give the Knicks a big $17mill expiring who is playing in a contract year. AK can play the 3 or 4 and give scoring and defense. Not that it is a deal breaker but if the Knicks land the big Russian Center, he'd have a friend in AK.
Jazz get a shooting guard and allow Matthews to go to Portland, get depth in the front court with Turiaf and Curry (I know Curry is nothing special) but also is a decent expiring deal for the Jazz.

Knicks say where do they sign!! I like CHandler in the Jazz system but AK-47 is a much better player. The Jazz definitely dont make the playoffs with this trade
Top 4 seed in the West!!! Guaranteed!!!

Re: Jazz/Knicks
I was thinking about a jazz knicks trade but it was okur for curry then TE for chandler. This allows us to become a major free agent player this coming year. The knicks will still be able to get their superstar in 2011 and with okur coming off in 2012 they can get their final big superstar. I only offered this because the realgm article says they want a bigman who can shoot and who better then okur can fill that need for them?

I think Chandler is a SF.
But, I'd love to get Turiaf.

"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

What do they lose with AK that they don't make up with Chandler and Turiaf? Turiaf would back up 4/5 and do well at that. Plays great D and rebounds. Chandler could either start or come off the bench (probably start at the 2).
Just wondering, do you think the Jazz DO make the playoffs the way they're presently aligned?

For a good part of the season many of us called AK-47 the team MVP. I dont trade his talents and his expiring contract unless I get a quality starting center.

This could allow CJ to swing over to the 2 then which I think is his normal position anyway.

Makes sense... Perhaps then use one of the TPE's to try and get Biedrins or Chandler...

You don't think Turiaf would be a quality starting center? Turiaf is a good passing big that will block shots and bring some toughness to the paint, I would definitely do this deal if Chandler's ankle passes a physical.

Re: Jazz/Knicks
I don't know that I am ready to call Turiaf a quality STARTING Center. Starting being the catch. I think he's a great backup and could start and play well as needed. But he's undersized as well (go figure with the Jazz! haha)
But he is tough and is a guy I have wanted on the Jazz since he was in the draft. I remember even listening to an interview predraft and thought he would be great here. Add Wilson and an expiring Curry and I think it's a big win for the Jazz.

Turiaf is simply a good back up PF who can play some center if need off the bench. No way I do this trade ...not even close...If I trade AK-47, im getting either Biedrens, one of the Portland centers (specifically the young guy), or the Nets center ...period!!!

The problem is that I am not sure you can get those pieces for AK... I would love Beans, or Lopez, but honestly, do you think that Lopez could be had for AK? I think we both know the answer. What the Jazz GET out of this trade is more valuable IMHO than what AK gives to the Jazz.

No guarantees the Knicks would land Paul and Anthony... But if it helps the Jazz and I think this would immensely, then why not? Fills out the roster nicely. Plus for other teams who want another expiring come the trade deadline, Curry's contract could be enticing yet...

Re: Jazz/Knicks
The Knicks can't trade Turiaf since he was recently traded for if I'm not mistaken.
