They will wait til the last possible minute to offer him a deal. Again, Portland fans, your organization is a joke. Unless, of course, you think it's perfectly normal or smart to fire your GM the day he is supposed to make draft picks for you. Threatening other organizations and telling them not to do something with a player is also pretty awesome.

It has more to do with the fact that we still haven't signed a GM yet most likely. They've narrowed it down to 3, and Matthews met with the President and assistant GM's and stuff.

Look man. Clearly you have some personal animosity with the Blazers organization, which is sad really. I have a feeling that Paul Allen could 100% fun the relief effort in Haiti, with all of the players skipping the season to help out and you'd find fault with it. I can 100% guarantee you don't know WHY KP was fired, but LOL, why should that stop you from spouting off about it?
Thank you for all the memories BRoy. You were a class act and brought hope to an entire region for 5 years. You will be missed.

How about because this is a board about opinions and that is my opinion. You go ahead and tell me and yourself that there wasn't anything crazy about what happened with Pritchard. That's fine, but that certainly isn't how I, and I'm sure plenty of other people, saw it.

Don't act like you wouldn't care if the Jazz kept trying to steal your young prospects that you want desperately to hold onto and build your team up with. I am probably one of the angrier Jazz fans about it, but I would wager that no Jazz fan is in love with Portland right now.

Right on! This is what rivalries and competition are supposed to be about! Don't let anyone, regardless of truth or logic, attempt to change your unbridled hatred for the Blazers. This is all good!

See ya next season. May the best team win!

Oh, I'm not saying we need to be BFF's or anything resembling that, I love rivalries, but rivalries grounded in sanity, not just pure, unadulterated HATE. That's just petty and childish. I wouldn't get UPSET if the Jazz tried to take one of our free agents, not at all. I'd be at least a little smug knowing that my team was able to draft or trade for coveted talent. I wanted to keep James Jones, but Miami outbid Portland. That stuff happens. We lost Frye, although he didn't play a whole lot while he was here, but I was happy to know he got to smell like the vault and get time to shine. Oh well.

I don't know why Jazz fans are all getting pissed. The guy is a free agent. If you want to keep him, pay him, simple as that.

This is just part of business in the NBA. It is exactly how we got Boozer and Memo. We just don't seem to use the rules to our advantage.

If it were another organization, I would totally agree with you. But this is the 2nd year in a row that Portland is trying to screw us with a front-loaded contract. How many other deals like that are even happening in the NBA right now? Is it that common at all? I haven't heard about that many teams doing this right now. It just seems pretty ridiculous. They want to use the rules to their advantage to screw the Jazz, but when they are at risk, they threaten the other team. What a joke. :x

The letter came from Vulcan, not the GM, the players, the coaches, or anybody really involved, it was PA's stupid advisors.

And we're frontloading because if we do that, you're less likely to match. If we DIDN'T, you would, and we wouldn't get the player we're after. It's not to SCREW UTAH, no. If the Jazz negotiated with their players and weren't worried about the tax then it wouldn't be an issue and he'd be offered a normal salary, really has nothing to do with who's offering it, other than giving the fans a scapegoat

Karmically this all but guarantees that Three-leg Greg has another season-ended knee injury.

I don't see this at all. Oden will probably get injured anyway because he's too powerful for real life, but I don't see karma affecting it.

I saw karma all over last season. It will only be worse this year.

So because we over pay for a free agent someone else needs to have their knee shatter? What the hell is wrong with you?

Didn't the karma injury bug bit the Jazz the year before the Blazers? It happens. Wonder who's turn it will be next season... Miami??? OUCH!
