Oh, I'm not saying we need to be BFF's or anything resembling that, I love rivalries, but rivalries grounded in sanity, not just pure, unadulterated HATE. That's just petty and childish. I wouldn't get UPSET if the Jazz tried to take one of our free agents, not at all. I'd be at least a little smug knowing that my team was able to draft or trade for coveted talent. I wanted to keep James Jones, but Miami outbid Portland. That stuff happens. We lost Frye, although he didn't play a whole lot while he was here, but I was happy to know he got to smell like the vault and get time to shine. Oh well.

If it were another organization, I would totally agree with you. But this is the 2nd year in a row that Portland is trying to screw us with a front-loaded contract. How many other deals like that are even happening in the NBA right now? Is it that common at all? I haven't heard about that many teams doing this right now. It just seems pretty ridiculous. They want to use the rules to their advantage to screw the Jazz, but when they are at risk, they threaten the other team. What a joke.
