Problem is you'd have to offer Horford near max money for ATL not match. Not sure if its worth it. I'm torn about acquiring Jefferson. It's not his D I am worried about, rather his passing. After all that wait how would Sap feel going back to the bench again? Knowing the Jazz they would put Memo and Jefferson out their together and Sap and Jefferson to start the season. Jefferson is most effective at PF, but who do we have or could get at C to compliment him?
I think I would rather wait and see as well, but wouldn't be up in arms about this move.

Re: Jazz off-season chatter
I'm in the minority I guess, but, I see Jefferson as an UPGRADE to Boozer. And for less money.
Personally, I'd be thrilled, especially if we can keep our TPE. By trading AK and Memphis pick for Jefferson and Brewer or something like that.
Boozer had been touted with having an inside game, but, he really has little low post offense to speak of. Jefferson on the other hand is a guy you can feed on the post and get points. He doesn't need to have lanes created for him like Boozer via PNR.
Is he all things to all people? The answer to all our problems? Lightning in a bottle?
No.
But, I think he's better than Boozer. And if we keep the TPE we'd still have the ability to add another piece sometime in the coming year.
So, count me strongly in favor.

"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

From what Ive seen of Jefferson he looks more like a pure post (someone you just drop the ball to) than a pick and roll type player. Would that work with our offence?

We used to drop the ball into Malone all the time.

Yeah but Malone also was great at the PnR and was a good passer to boot. I don't think Jefferson has these skills. Maybe Sloan can teach him?

Millsap would be pissed. But whatever.
Pro's: Jefferson is bigger and 3 years younger.
I used to be all about Jeffs until I watched him play several times last year. He just came across as the most selfish player to me. When heavily guarded, he still constantly neglected to dish out to the open man once he had the ball with his back to the basket, instead opting to force up a contested jumpshot - destroying the flow of the game. His shooting % could be 5 points higher.
Maybe I'm magnifying a minor issue but it seemed to me that Jefferson single-handedly took Minny out of games they should have won.
And what's a couple more inches when you don't use it on the defensive end?

Just watched some clips. He is pretty damn good. Maybe he just needs a soild team and coach. Maybe with a point and team that looks to feed him he wont be so selfish. I just dont think we can get him. Dallas is after him too and they are not divison rivals.

He was on Minny right? Not a lot of options and probably played frustrated a lot. Just guessing but he passed well when he was in Boston.
