Rashad McCants

Post#1 » by Ming Kong! » Sat Jul 17, 2010 11:54 pm

We could probably draw him for cheap, and he's pretty good. He's a 25yr old, 4yr NBA veteran who while usually under the radar, has been pretty good (atleast statistically):

20.2mpg 10ppg while shooting so-so percentages: .431 .368 .741. His .8spg and .8to are not bad for the minutes. We don't really need much more than he provides as a 3rd SG behind Miles and Bell. If we could get him for the minimum, why not?

No one's cheap if you have to pay double.

With Fesenko they do have 13 players, 3 of which are unguaranteed.

How?

Jefferson/Okur/Fesenko
Millsap/Evans
Kirilenko/Hayward
Bell/Miles
Williams/Price

That's 11. Who are your other two, Jeffers and Gaines?

Everywhere he goes, he puts up some nice numbers in limited minutes but then wears out his welcome by being an unrepentant chucker. He can score off the bench but his "shoot first, shoot later, shoot again after that" approach means he wouldn't be long for this team.

I don't have such a problem with Gaines, if we can't get the backup PG we've long hoped for, but Jeffers is a project, and with 4 swingmen ahead of him, I don't have such a problem with having him on board. Atleast he gives us athleticism and effort, which could eventually transform into real results.
