KG was injured last season, Rondo is one year better, they've retained the whole team, but replaced Wallace with O'Neal. These guys lost to LA in the final two minutes of a game 7 in the NBA Finals, and you have them 12th, basically a middle of the crop team?

People are quick to forget that the Rockets lost to the Lakers in seven, the same as the Celtics this year. The Rockets have since swapped the shadow of Artest for Ariza, traded Carl Landry for Kevin Martin, added Brad Miller, Jordan Hill, Jeffries, Buddinger, Andersen, and have Yao Ming back.

Bulls fan here, this is how I see the west next year:

1. Lakers- would anyone argue with this?
2. Thunder- incredibly young, talented team. I predict Durant will win MVP next year.
3. Jazz- honestly, I don't have a good reason for putting them here. I could see there being a game difference between the 3 and 6 seed in the west next year. But I think that Bell and Jefferson are good substitutes for Matthews and Boozer, and I really like DWill. But I guess the biggest reason I have the Jazz here is because no other team looks that good in the west.
4. Mavs. I have them this high because they have depth and added Chandler, who should help them with rebounding and defense. I don't have them higher because they're two best players will be a combined 69 years old this year, and Marion will be 32. Haywood just got a huge contract and NBA players are notorius for playing poorly after receiving a huge payoff.
5. Trailblazers- team that excells at defense, rebounding, and has efficient offense. Could get the 2 seed but won't because of injuries.
6. Spurs- Dejuan Blair and Tiago Splitter are 2 good pickups 2 years in a row, and they still have Parker, Ginobili, and Duncan.
7. Nuggets- they melted down in this year's playoffs, Billups is 33 and tries to do too much on offense, and Harrington is a player who scored a lot on a bad team and I don't see him doing well with Melo. Plus Melo just got married, and I doubt he'll be working on his game during his honeymoon. Kirk Hinrich improved every year he was in the NBA and then he got married, and he's been a terrible 3-point shooter ever since.
8. Suns- the team that made it to the western conference finals lost their best scorer, but picked up some nice pieces and shouldn't be dead yet.

Rockets and Clippers should also compete for the playoffs.

Are you a PBP cutie?

I think that the Blazers will be lower, even if healthy. They still are too inexperienced. The suns will make the playoffs and the Jazz are a 4 seed imo.

I think the Jazz have the third best player in the West which will always allow us to compete for HCA in at least the first round. Hopefully everyone stays healthy and AJ meshes in easily and we start to advance to the WCF and the Finals again.

LOL, I do admit I am very Pessimistic by nature. But being a pessimistic Jazz fan makes the pain a little bit easier since they always do better than your initial expectations.

This is extremely true, getting your hopes up about the Jazz can have devastating out comes that no one wants to have so I can side with you on that one.

How will the Suns possibly still make the playoffs? I don't see that team even contending for a playoff spot!

Rockets are going to make the playoffs. I like their roster and Adelman is a hell of a coach, and if there's anything I've learned the past 21 years of being a Jazz fan it's that those are the only things you need to make the playoffs.
