Looks to me like Fes needs a system to have any hope at all! He's still one goofy bastid on the court. All jokes a side Fes does look like he got a little stronger in the arms!Still has slow feet!

I think Fes will be signed as soon as the international stuff is over. I am sure there's an agreement, you do your thing, and if you don't tear your ACL you can sign this.

Fes lived in the townhome next door to my parents and I've been in his home and met the guy before. He moved out when his contract expired but I was able to talk to one of his "assistants" when they were picking up something from his place last week (they literally do everything for him; drive, cook, laundry, take him to movies etc. He's DEFINITELY not a functional adult) and he said it's a matter of a couple hundred thousand. Fes was given the qualifying offer but he thinks he deserves more and rightfully so in my opinion. A couple hundred thousand is what's holding the Jazz back? He's not asking for millions. I detest the way the Jazz handle free agents.

other teams know that signing him, they'll have to be patient: he'll adjust slowly to a new ambient and even more to a new team/system.
This decrease his value and Utah know it.
Anyway, he deserved a 2year contract, maybe with the second partially guaranteed.

What's holding whom back?

Seems to me someone is holding himself back (or allowing himself to be held back) from becoming a "functional adult" and a functional NBA player. If he could just mature as a person and a player the amount of money he'd be squabbling over would increase 10x.

Clarifying Fesenko's Situation: Restricted free agency can be very messy in the NBA and the latest victim is Utah Jazz center Kryrlo Fesenko, who was portrayed in a somewhat negative light earlier today.

Had Fesenko been an unrestricted free agent he would have been signed in early July like most other free agents. A half dozen NBA teams showed more than a passing interest in him, but they didn't actively pursue him because Utah made it clear that they would match any friendly offer. He's good enough that he probably could have gotten a three-year $9 million deal on the open market, but no team wanted to tie up their cap space with an offer that they knew Utah would match.

View Yannis Koutroupis Archive As of right now Fesenko has multiple offers from teams overseas for one-two million Euros per season. However, Fesenko is likely going to take the Jazz's qualifying offer of $1.1 million and become an unrestricted free agent next summer because it's in his best interest. In the case of a lockout Fesenko can play overseas, continue his development and come back to the states for a bigger payday like Josh Childress and Leinas Kleiza. If he has a solid 10-11 campaign for the Jazz he could get the payday that he missed out on this summer by being a restricted free agent. His camp isn't inclined to sign a long-term deal right now because they know he's at the stage where his biggest strides as a player have yet to come.

Make no mistake about it though, the 23-year-old center has a lot of value around the league and him being unsigned is not an indication that he can't play. He proved in his opportunities to start and in the playoffs that he has a ton of potential that he's yet to tap into. He's just burdened right now by being a restricted free agent as many others before him have been.

That's a... generous assessment.

It's right where I evaluate him. He would be a top player in Spain.

From the 3 minutes I could bear to watch that game, he looks just a useless in a crap league as he does here. He's not worth anymore money than we are offering.
