Trade for Melo

Post#1 » by Montanajazz » Wed Sep 22, 2010 11:05 pm

How about the jazz trade Kirlinko and Okur for Melo and Anderson a #1 pick. We go for it all this year and bop both the lakers and the Miami Traitors!!

If Denver's too sleepy a town for Melo, what makes you think he'd want a trade to SLC?

Ugg. If I have to root for Melo, I might have to turn in my Jazzfan badge.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

Wait... we give up AK and an injured Memo... we get back Melo, Anderson AND a #1 pick? WTH would Denver do this?

Marshmellow Anthony is a tugh (is that a correct word?), he would never be a Jazz man. Never !

And I would hate to see him in a Jazz uniform.

I am so glad to hear that sentiment from someone else.

No way in the 7 layers of hell would Denver do that. One they get back absolutely crap for arguably their greatest player in franchise history. AK and Memo are good players, but even AK at his best was not on the level of Melo. Plus Denver would give up a first rounder which would have to be highly protected because after that trade they'd be fighting Golden State and Minnesota to get to 20 wins, and a solid defensive player in Andersen. You know all those (Please Use More Appropriate Word) Deron Williams for a crap sandwich deals that piss off Jazz fans, well this is practically the same thing.

Denver has absolutely no reason to do this trade. All AK is good for is cap space, which if they lose Melo they'd still have and have more of it because they wouldn't have Memo's 10 million dollar deal. Also, why would Denver gift wrap such a nice present to a division rival? They're not (Please Use More Appropriate Word) like Minnesota.

If the Jazz were going to make a series offer for Melo I think it would be AK(salary purposes), Millsap, Hayward, Tomic and a pick. Yeah that is giving up a lot, but you have to give up a lot to get a guy like Melo and I am not sure Denver would still be all that interested and I doubt the Jazz would be unless Melo signed an extension.

From reading the articles on realgm this summer I have to think it's Melo's wife who is acting as puppetmaster here and she wants New York or LA but most likely New York. I doubt she would be any happier in Salt Lake as opposed to Denver. The one thing that Utah would have over Denver is with D-will and Big Al is a better shot at winning a title. But New York with Melo, Amare and CP3 is a better shot to win the title.

Denver wouldn't do Ak and Memo for Anderson and their #1 or just Melo but you want both, haha.

No way would I want Melo. You have to have some standards. Imagine Melo and Sloan now that would be funny. Melo is not a winner. I will not be a Jazz fan while he is on the team.

I am going to have to disagree with the sentiment that Melo couldn't exist here. I think he would be happy within the offense without having to carry the load every single night.

Now that being said Denver would be crazy to send him here.

dont know if youve seen it but this would improve your team's defense and get rid of Okur

I threw out this possible trade for Melo & Anderson because we would rid ourselves of Kirlinko and Okur's contracts and injuries and strengthen our defense, scoring and athleticism. Maybe even win the west and go all the way. Seems like a pretty good trade for Denver considering all the other presumed offers. My trade was Melo and Anderson for Okur, Kirlinko and a Jazz #1.

Leaves us really small up-front, not getting a big man back for Millsap. Think I'd pass on that one (as much as we've all wanted Kaman for years).

No need to "rid" ourselves of AK's contract; it's expiring. For the first time, his contract is very valuable to us now.

... regardless, of course, the trade is super-lopsided in the Jazz's favor.

ok its changed a lil bit and i think if Ak-47 is really attached to Utah he would ask be bought out like big z was in the wizards cav trade, and sign a small deal with utah. Utah kills in this trade if that happens

haha. If the nuggets are that stupid to take this trade the jazz do this in an instant. For all the melo haters, I understand, I don't like him either when he drops 30pts on us, but the view is very different IF he was on our team. Again Melo doesn't want to spend his prime years in Utah, so its a moot point.

Not at all, sir. I have less hate for Kobe than I do for Carmelo.
