I was thought that Michael Redd would have been a perfect 2 guard for the Jazz, similiar to a Jeff Malone or Hornacek.
Is there a reason the Jazz never went after him?

I dont know, mabey they never had the room under the salary cap to add another max salary. mabey the color Red is Oconnors most hated color. Mabey their is an ongoing custoday battle between Michael red and coach layden. I always thought those two could be father and son.

Too expensive for a one-dimensional player.

No defense. Hornacek was a capable defender and Michael Jordan called Jeff Malone one of his toughest defenders.

Re: Michael Redd
Redd sucks now. One of my best friends is a lifelong bucks fan, and they dislike him as much as we hated boozer recently. He is one-dimensional, injury-prone, doesn't play much defense, and isn't all that efficient. God no. He maybe used to be good, he is officially washed up now.
Random note, why is the FO not solely focused on finding a shot blocker? Picks, trade.... years go by without any effort to address our biggest weakness. While sloans system can artificially inflate players offensive ability, we just never seem to emphasize defense with our personnel.
Sigh.... rant over.

... is washed up and was never able to justify his ridiculously inflated contract. Bucks' fans called him Max Green when he was playing and not in a complimentary sense.

The Jazz were considering drafting him, but ultimately settled on DeShawn Stevenson.

Re: Michael Redd
It takes two to tango. The Jazz would have loved to have Redd in his prime, but, so did his team. And he wasn't worth what it'd have taken to land him.
Now his value is that of an expiring contract. I don't think he could beat out Bell.

"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."
