I'm thinking of it as a fan, rather than acknowledging the realities confronting the Millers. I was wrong in the sense that I thought Bell could replace him fairly easily, while leaving us room to sign additional players. Obviously, from a business standpoint, the Millers had an easy decision to make.

It's not one good game. It's pretty much every game he starts he kills it.
drops 30 tuesday, then yesterday...
20 pts (8/18)
10 boards
2 blks
1 stl
1 to
he gets paid 6 / 7 / / 7 / 8 mil each year (cap hit), in addition to the large bonus.
Thats what starting shooting guards make in the NBA. Wesley is a good starting shooting guard, and perfect for our system. You can say the Jazz couldn't bet he would be this good, but in retrospect, it's gonna be clearly worth it if he drops a few more of these big games (which I think you'll be seeing a lot of while Roy's out).
Deron's never gotten to play with a good shooting guard (all around), and that's one of the best positions to benefit from a great PG. Our offense has been trash because we can't hit a damn shot for the first quarter every game. From a GM perspective, it's not that big of a cap hit. It's a lot of money for the millers, sure, but we aren't gonna be under the cap any time soon if we resign AK (which I think we should do), and probably never while we're a contender. Basketball and cap wise, good move. Millers, well its their money.

Tough position for the Jazz. Surprising contract offer by the blazer, but it looks like they may have gotten a steal. Guess it makes the loss of Roy a little less painful.

Please lets not forget that Mathews is doing what he is doing with high volume attempts. His percentages are not great.
44% from the field, 28% from 3 (Yikes), and 78% from the FT line. All of these numbers are below where they were with the Jazz last year.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not forget that Portland gave him 9 Million Dollars in one day (ONE DAY?!) and will continue to pay him 5 mill during the year.
The Jazz could pay Raja's entire salary almost with what they gave him in one day. I for one am not worried about it AT ALL.
The Jazz will be fine. Raja has said that he has felt rusty with all of his time of the last couple of years and is still catching up to the speed of the game. CJ has been pretty bad, but he does this every year and by the end of the season he will be fine. I am not worried about Wesley at all.

Not me. I thought it was not a wise move to let him go.
