Wow must be some youngins posting :D

For me, It isn't even close. Deron is my favorite current player, and I think he has a fine future ahead of him. That being said there are a few things I want to see happen before he gets to share time on Stockton's pedestal.

I want to see how things turn out with his coming free agency, Will he even stay? Will he take less than max money to better the team the way Stock did for so many years? Loyalty is a big deal.
The argument that Deron is bigger is dumb, Just think back to Stockton setting that high screen on bigs all game long year after year, Stockton was probably the toughest player to ever play.

As far as right now if I could put a prime Stockton, or Deron out there......... Sorry Deron :( But I go Stockton.

I think this current team has a great chance to be something special. If Deron can lead them to it, Then we can talk.

I'd take Stockton any place, any time. But I'm sure we can return to this argument if Deron wins a title for us.

"He did what Stockton never could."
"In much weaker, less competitive NBA..."
"That's just an excuse."
"It's a fact."

etc.
